Okay !! Seems like the XJ site turned from kreedzing to clanning, esp in this particular thread. Having gone through the entire posts in this particular thread, I think its complete waste of time whether or not hel^x should be unbanned or not only cuz he recorded the alleged toughest map ever...
Some ppl like him, some dnt...Some ppl just dnt like the idea that hel^x is getting unbanned cuz of kz_synergy_x...Although, the admins are always right, members also have the right to express themselves. So it seems the war would go on...
Although I think there's a pretty simple solution. Instead of "Do you like the new login box?" poll create a poll that says :
That way, the members get to express their opinion by votes and admins dont have to waste time "satisfying" ever member, cuz trust me that's not possible...
I knw am not a pro and neither a regular to this community and my condition's like that of a butterfly amongst the "bulls and bears" of the trade, but I think all of you should put a serious thought to my suggestion...

I find it fascinating that you talk about the community as a singular. This most definitely is not the first time. XJ consists of lots of different people and we don't think alike. If someone (who is somewhat visible on this website) is happy about something it doesn't tell you anything about what the community actually thinks.
I don't hate heL^_x but who would want a guy back who made a cheated demo and recorded a fake demo for his friend? It doesn't really sound like he had a lot of respect for this community.
Since when could you shorten your timebans with an essay? Please don't say it was possible since heL^_x recorded kz_synergy_x.
I don't actually see it as a problem that he could submit the demo while being banned (at least if he didn't get the ban for the cheated demo). If I recall correctly XJ allows banned people who haven't cheated to submit demos. Even if he did cheat, this is quite an exception and his demo could be allowed, he kind of deserves the money.
And what do we do if we don't consider the community like this?
We would take no decisions at all.
Have you ever tried to take a decision satisfying everybody?

Change my "community" to "majority in the community" if you prefer, that's how I understood it.
For god's sake you guys are looking for tiny details/bugs (call them the way you want) nobody gives a damn about except you and 5 other members.
Why do you have to express your (negative) opinion as soon as there's something you don't like?
I learnt to shut my mouth up when I have to, even if I totally disagree.
I'm waiting for the time you will open it to express positive feelings and opinions. For once, please just see the glass "half-full" instead of "half-empty".
What's the point of bothering everybody and especially admins for such things?
When we will get tired of this, we will just lock the threads and the comments to be quiet...
Or we will ignore you, stop asking members' opinion via polls and just stop trying to remain as close as possible to you all.

hope hel does not win this competition of recording synergy_x, cuz this will be a disaster, more than actually is.
i want to say 2 things (2 opinions).
first of all, i think most of people here aren't unhappy because hel's bann time was reduced, just it is a bit strange why this kind of exceptions are made only with some users...
in fact, i think it's unnecessary to still using a warn/bann system if with writting 1 or more essays, u can get unbanned.
finally i reached the conclusion that when some users are against xj's decisions, some members of the staff come saying those users are stupid immature childs, that they should grow up, and all that shit.. and in most of the cases, users are right, but of course, xj staff will denied it.
those were my 2 opinions.

For some? Only for banned who write an essay that gives admins faith that essay is honest.

He was unbanned prematurely cuz he wrote his essay which was obviously accepted. He has the same chance as the others, no more no less.

You actually countered essay-reducing-ban by supposing that another player (kkz) is hurt cuz he didn't get the same treatment when in fact he did! This is just laughable.
For future reference admins, just assing one of you to reply to this thread with a somewhat summarized answer to all of these (good questions) and lock the thread.
This is how it will always keep going when there are some people who don't bother to read the previous posts except the first one and then they go "YEAH, WTF IS THAT ALL ABOUT?"
Seriously lock the thread, topic has been explained hasn't it? Rest are just opinions wether it was right or wrong decision.

Uh, not a good call in my opinion. XJ after all is quite a big website. For it to grow bigger the admins just have to be strict. I think there should be close to none flexibility at all.
