30 days of night: (horror[not that much] movie)

Just watched it, a few hours ago, and i must say i was pretty surprised by it. It's a vampire movie, not a brilliant one, but good enough to keep you in your seat. Things happen in some small village from Alaska, where once a year, the night is 30 days long. It lacked the element of surprise sometimes, and also the ending was a bit cheesy, but it was an OK movie to watch.

Pretty nice but kinda childish idea, a combination between Lord Of the Rings and ... well any other movie in that genre. I'm waiting to see the second part... which will appear somewhere in 2011.

Great movie but way too many shots and shits, my ears were like OMG stop on cinema, maybe to sound system was broken or something but sometimes I felt like dying on the chair. In rest the idea was pretty banal, after years of killing for money one of the members (Sylvester Stallone) decided to go back in a damn island where some Americans gave a ton of money to the island's General and where they were cultivating drugs and killing people, to rescue the General's daughter. They succeeded, movie over.

Well, it was a good movie, if we were @ 1995 now, I would probably give it 9 or even 10. But with nowadays standards, I'll stick with a lower grade.
This being cause of poor acting by Brad Pitt and it being a bit too easy to "read". As in knowing what would happen next and so forth.

Still gets a 7/10 - worth a watch.

Giving "Knowing" a 9 out of 10 grade is just misleading man. Knowing is the sort of movie you really wanna like, cause it could be so awesome. But the longer you get into the movie, the worse it gets. I remember when I watched it the first time and thought "damn this will be epic" like 15 mins into it. But then things just got worse. The ending is just so damn bad.

Great start, it has one of those extremely catchy plots, so you get nailed to the bed, chair, or where the fuck you are when you watch movies.
But after the first disaster it just goes downhill. I'll quote a wise man and say; "Special effects looked like they were from a video game" - Nicolas Cage's acting also seems to follow the trend and keeps getting worse throughout the movie. Then again, can this man do anything else than dissapoint? He was good in Bankok Dangerous, that's about it.

The last 30 minutes of the movie, or so, are just so damn bad that you will be asking yourself what the hell went wrong. They must've been smoking the hellahella when they wrote that. Really.

So basically it starts off as a 9 or 10, and ends up as a 5/10.
Could be rated even lower, but has to get credit for the beginning.

Cube (1997)
Nice idea/concept, pretty strange algorithm they found and... obviously there was a dark minded killing everybody instead of helping. If anyone knows the movie I don't know why that guy jumped after that woman and then let her fall into 'vivid'.
Well the idea was putting randomly people into a giant cube and make them enter from one room to another until they find an exit, the exit was a bridge between the cube and outside... and every room was moving at a period of time, like moving a Rubik Cube.

Cube 2 Hypercube (2002)
4 dimension cube ? A remake after Cube (1997), nice cuantic physics theories out there, at the end the spy kicked that guy in his eye and he looked after her some years (he was a lot older) but she kicked him 2 seconds before :D
Well, in this movie they put all the people that had a connection with the cube and one spy to take something from the original creator of it (a blind girl) who hid herself in that Hypercube.

I'm going to see the 3rd part, but as I see the IMDB ratings are going downer and downer from 1st movie to second and now to third.
