Saw 1-6
Originally posted by ndRThese movies aren't really worth watching, I studied the 3 first ones (I guess you guys would love to study such things at school eh?) and the only thing I can say is that the actors are really bad, they're really bad filmed that's just horrible.
There's a simple test to realize how bad are these movies: Watch from the beginning to the middle, pause the video, do something else for 5min, come back and start the movie, it's just hilarious, you just can't get into the movie again.
Those movies are just surfing on the violence trend wave. Have you ever heard teenagers talking about Saw?
To sum up it's all like "I watched it, because of everyone watched it, and because I can proove I'm not scared" :)
If you're interested in (good) horror movies, you got Hostel, The Exorcist, The Ring (the japanese version is way better), The Grudge or Shining (this is not really an horror movie but it's quite stressful, Jack Nicholson is really scary and shows us uber acting talent).
But come one, 6 movies...
It looks like more a Surgery lesson in 6 parts, or "how to cut every member of a body".
Saw is a/n uber-very-low budget film so ofcourse they dont have Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as actors :P
And I've never heard someone talk about that they saw it just because they wanted to prove theirself something... wtf?
I watch the movies because you dont know whats going to happen, when you think its going to end in one way, it doesnt, it's a genious film.
I find movies like this more interesting, I mean all the expensive over-hyped hollywood movies you can predict the end by watching the cover of the DVD.
Romantic Movie -> They are happy -> fighting -> going back together in the end.
Sports movie-> They are bad, they dont believe in themself, suddenly they practice hard and believe in themself now they win/get far.
Action movie -> The good ones always "win".
etc..

ok, so i will make a low budged, full of blood, shit movie, totally non - sence, with totally unexpected ending. u gonna love that?
I encourage you to do that, if you ever had an idea or a thought about something that you'd like to accomplish. But you know it will demand the best of your efforts and the most of your concentration, and everything you ever had inside you in order to get tehre to make it happen. I encourage you to do that. When you do, please let me know.
"Not only does this movie create an extremely tense atmosphere the moment it starts, it has plenty of gore and violence to bombard your eyes, not to mention that it has one of the best twists seen in any horror movie.
I watched this film alone at night with the lights off, expecting to be freaked out by it since I thought it was just another typical horror movie; but instead I was completely intrigued by the story line, and utterly drawn into the film for the whole 100 minutes. At the end I did not feel scared, rather, I felt something very few horror movies have to offer: satisfaction! This movie left me in a slightly disturbed but very thoughtful state. It did not give me nightmares, rather, it plagued my day-dreams; for two days my thoughts could not stray far from this film, that's how powerful it is.
If you want a cringingly gory and violent horror movie, watch "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" or "Hostel"; if you want a nightmarishly scary horror movie, watch "The Grudge" or "The Ring"; if you want a clever and disturbing horror movie with an excellent story and a great twist, watch "Saw"."

Have you ever seen Paranormal Activity? A shit-quality, basicly just an amateur video montage that was done with 15 000 dollars. And the gross revenue of it was nearly 200 million dollars. So no, exploding cars and Bruce Willis won't guarantee the success.
first one was the best. epic idea = win!
don't remember if i watched the rest... means i didn't really like'em if i can't remember...
First one was great, really original..
Second one was awesome.
Third one was shit, fourth shit, fifth shit, sixth shit.
I dont even know why I keep watching 'em..
I'm watching that Riki-oh movie now, dubbed in english. So far it's cheesy as fuck. Don't know if I'm gonna finish it lol.
Ok, watched it till the end. it was weird as hell -.-
Well I kinda agree with ndR, but Saw 1 is seriously not a bad horror movie if you compare it to something similar, like Hostel. If I had to choose which is better, I'd say Saw for the mere fact of it being truly a horror movie, not resolving anything (which is not an excuse to do 6, if more movies) and keeping the intensity during the whole movie is one of the most important parts.
Eli Roth impressed people with a big budget and a clever script. I only watched it because Tarantino produced it. It wasn't bad but you cannot even count it in the same league as The Shining. Jack Nicholson for ever.
watched haute tension ndR? just watched it now, that one was pretty creepy lol
Saw 1 was good (Michael Emmerson fitted perfectly in there), I think it had something to do with it not just being about how to kill people in the most disgusting ways. I've watched number 2 and three too and didn't like em at all. Except for the guy saying "Survival of the fittest" thus kicking someone out of his pipe, even though there could easily fit 2 people in there.
nikitich - i'm just laughing here right know cuz i read u're sentence "It's all nonsence" .
This movie is so fckin connected from 1-6 and it make sence pretty clear...Maybe u thought "unreal" or something.. But i don't see anything unreal also here .. There are psycho's everywhere who are ready to do everything ..
Dr.Gordon is alive.
same unoriginal story again and again for 10 (or some number) movies already
