Double Duck
Hi all,
Ok i want to tell you that every day i'm trying to do dd without loose speed. But I can't... There is a technique or something i don't know ?
I bind my key like this :
bind "MWHEELDOWN" "+jump"
bind "MWHEELUP" "+duck"
Plz i need some help !
It's not legal to dd. If someone would see you doing this auful technique you'll get a ban.

just practice.. i learned how to doubleduck jumping from a high roof in hns_floppytown and dducking as much as i could on the floor. just try, different timing, more/less scrolls (ducks) per "doubleduck". strafe more/less while doubleducking. just try to get the perfect timing
Doubleduck/DD: Allows you to get up edges that are 32 units high or less without jumping. -.-
U mean ground strafes ?

Yeah, pretty much this. I'm very curious about how the term "doubleduck" in any way relates to ground strafing or even getting up on edges that are 32 units high.
it is very hard to dd with mwup, it's better and easer to do dd's with mwdown.
one advice that helped me was that, you dont have to change the strafe direction on every duck , for example you can strafe 2 times to the left, and then 2 times to the right, but of course this works just if you jump from a higher position and have a lot of speed
Its not dd, its gs. Flibo and Advice Dog are right. I've whined to people quite often about them calling groundstrafing doubleducking, and I've even seen people calling it "ddrun". Well, I guess you can call this "ddrun": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRYG0ILQi1g ...
Thx kafds

It's illegal when you bind it on your mousewheel. It is absolutely legal though when you use CTRL to double duck, even at the ESL. In german speaking countries it's also called "Russenduck". This technique isn't awful, I think it looks pretty funny :D

Wtf?
It's kreedz and everything is legal here.
That was wannabe joke
Its a serious offence in clanning although in kreedzing ts considered to be completely legal :)
One question: ground strafing is actually "silent run" from classic cs + strafes?
This is what I understand from the clip kafds posted.
mheel + duck + strafes
silent run = one rotation of scroll + duck at the end
I neved ground strafed well, I can't even do dcj :|, I can't sync the 2 ducks before jump.
No, |Hunter|, kafds meant that people should not say "doubleduck" (DD) instead of "ground strafing" (GS/G-Strafing) because it does not involve double-ducking. G-Strafing is the exact same thing as bunny hopping, but instead of jumping, you duck (on your mouse wheel).
The video shows someone G-Strafing using stand-ups. You can easily notice his stand-ups for his left strafes, where he ducks to the ground (just like in a stand-up bhop) and then ducks. The right strafes are not stand-ups as far as I can see.
In conclusion: G-Strafing = Bunny hopping, but ducking (on your mouse wheel) instead of jumping. It is also really hard to do more than a single strafe per duck when G-Strafing.

then what is this ? http://www.sendspace.com/file/ch7hvy or how do u call it if its not groundstrafing ?
That's a well crafted cheat, in first place. In second place, I didn't say I call it ground strafing, did I? :)

so if some1 actually strafes while running on ground, there won't be a name for that technique right ? (or we'll call it "a well crafted cheat") :P
Well, since it is in fact impossible to strafe like that efficiently without a cheat, you can call it that. Or you can pick a name and stick to it, like everybody else.
