I think the majority of all human beings had those thoughts actually, and also even the same thoughts. Well, atleast I have the same thoughts as you aftermatch.

Human thought's are just a wonderful thing.
I agree with shnz, life is a gift/present that we should enjoy to the maximum, do the most you can in the time your here, and the rest that comes is a bonus.
When i was a little kid about 6 years old, i was in bed reflecting about death, i though't about my grandma, what would i think and do if she would just die... I started to cry and then thought about myself, what would happen if i was dead... after a short period of time my mom entered in my room and asked what happened and I sayed what I was thinking. It was a really strange moment, the next day I went to school and I was still thinking about it and my mom said i shouldn't think about it, because all my other friends don't and that later in life i would understand it.
I guess she was right.
Really is amazing that we humans can rationalize this big.

Well, mate, when I was about 6 or 7, maybe even the same as your age I had almost the same experience. I was in my bed, thinking about life. And then I suddenly realized, that my mother and my father will die some day, and I got really depressed. Started crying and pushing around the sheets when my mum and dad walked in, and they told me something about this. I can’t really remember what that was exactly, but I’ll paraphrase it anyway – They told me that this is the normal cycle of life, and while some die, others are born. This is just the way it is, happens all the time everywhere around the world. Of course, this is completely true as you think about it, but you know, you don’t want members of your own family to die right? So maybe, just the thought of this makes me sad. After all my parents really succeeded to calm me and I went to sleep not thinking about this anymore. As you said after some years I really understood what they meant, although I did back then, but now it’s more clear and adequate. It really is amazing that humans can rationalize this big, but it’s no surprise for me. Human beings are incredible, and we often underestimate our own capability. I said somewhere above, in my previous post that we use only 3% of our brain power, and it is astonishing we develop so much only using this much.

Forgot to add that I am 100% sure that some intelligent life in space what we maybe will discover will totally kill all religions on Earth :P

Why do you think that way? I don’t get what intelligent space life has to do with religion. I mean yes, It’ll be a shock for the whole planet, but I don’t really thing this would kill all religions. People have been praying to God for over two milleniums. As a matter of fact, I think if they’re hostile in some kind of way towards us, many people will ask for God’s help. Because after all, what can you do against them? And the other possibility, if they’re well-intentioned – well I think this will contribute to science very much and we will discover many new things.

Hehe, glad to hear that mate. As you think of it you go deeper and deeper and it's just endless. But nice to see someone so far away from you thinking the same way as you do.

Now about the latest news. About 2 hours ago I heard that dr0psys had past away. Even though I didn’t know him personally, and I played with a couple of times about 4 years back, I felt sad. Really, it’s unfair to die so young. I don’t know the cause of his death, but I do know that he died far too young. I’m sure dr0psys was a good man, he contributed for the development of kreedz, and his maps are still played today. I’ve seen a video of him trying some LJ and it feels really weird to watch it again, now knowing that the person behind the screen is now dead. It’s a really weird feeling. Anyways, R.I.P. dr0psys, you will be remembered.

This thread is pretty deep. For me the meaning of life is to enjoy the time I get to spend here. Just live your life doing what you want and enjoy the ride. I don't want to think of afterlife or such. Far too depressing imo. :D

I always pictured you like this, depressed-thinking-about-afterlife-person. But after thinking some, considering your hiphopgangstayoyo style.. maybe not. :FFFFF

I always pictured myself loving you <3

I do not at all appreciate people who fanatically pleads the f*ck things they can't know. "God created Earth, God created human", ridiculous. Especially these shahids, mujahids or w/e they are believing in the one who they've never seen and so doing terror.

Latest apocalypse prediction is funny as well, haha allegedly Bible says the end comes on 21 May, faithful will ascend to heaven, other to hell, and eventually nothing happens. Looks like in years life became boring, thats why old-aged man decides to make world pay attention at him. Religion's origin can't be confirmed exactly too so there is always a possible variant that in long-ago times someone had nothing to do, and created it.

People believed that Earth is flat, however it appeared being round. People believe in certain creator, and I agree with Kraeft and Cypek, the truth will be once let out. It can be never thought of either.

There's not such thing as a "meaning" or "purpose" of life because "meaning" and "purpose" do not exist in any tangible way. They're concepts that simply help self-aware organisms define their relationship with the world around them. Death too is a concept that carries a notion of self-awareness. We're all beings of enormously complex arrangement of energy. Now, since energy cannot be created or destroyed (law of conservation), life and death exist only from the standpoint of biological survival.

Achieving happiness is a process, not a destination, so it's only natural for it to cycle between variations of both positive and negative states (with respect to the individual). Consistent happiness can only be achieved through rationality, personal integrity, self-knowledge.

Rationality is required because we exist in an environment that is based on fundamental principles, so we're a subject to those principles ourselves. Integrity is the degree to which we recognize truth and falsehood in relation to reality. Self-knowledge is essential in understanding how we interact with the world around us. In a sense, happiness is putting rational principles into consistent action.

Personally, I try to avoid the all-too-tempting utilitarian approach to understanding reality and focus on logically derived (to the best of my abilities) principles instead. Dying is an essential part of living, so it's not worth worrying over it. I'd rather spend the time I have productively. Moreover, if we were to live forever, all the special and unique moments would become an inevitable and rather dull consequence of eternity.

To me, a truly enriching life is one that is dedicated to raising the sense of what it is to be human in everyone I love and everyone that needs to be loved. I don't have a sense of larger goals because I let my principles guide me. That's what it means to live in the "here and now". :-)

Life is possibility of each to enjoy it during some time.
But after death there will be nothing. Death it's the end forever.
