I chose 2 const of ljstats which poss for human: prestrafe 311 unit/sec, maxspeed 375 unit/sec (+64 gain). Now need calculate distance which need with this const.

a' =wj time w/ duck in plane of start position: 0,7320926314 sec.
a = wj time w/ duck from start pos to land: ~ 0.898725 sec.

a delata = a-a': ~0.166633 sec.
a delta x maxspeed = 0.166633 x 375 = 62.487 ( without strafe after show stats )

Distance need: 346-62.487 = 283.5

If check all factors its around 280-282 stats, 311 pre, 64+ gain, with perfect jof/land on both axis x/y, sure!

All my calculation not pretty correctly but very close to real.

what the fuck man

- Possible !

Just need to get good prestrafe !

jusuuh17/03/2012 12:42

Not possible. Give up your dreams, I've seen 281 stats with perfect jumpoff on this and not even close. No matter how you calculate it or try it, it's impossible. Nannou, your calculations really didn't go with the hl-engine values and rules.

It based on Lt.Rat calculations, i just add height difference between start and end poss. just tell me where i wrong.

flibo bug)))

Grrr17/03/2012 14:08(edited 17/03/2012 14:12)

Its possible to calculate the distance with removing the Flibo bug(but need to know the angle between jump distance vector and 1 ortogonal vector of the map), but IDK about the height difference. :)

Note: if on some jumps with FB its 45 degree u can get 13.2548 units bonus (which means doing 280 block with 266.7452 stats)

nikksan17/03/2012 18:06

I tried to do it a long time ago,but I tried to land on the inside edge,I did couple of fails with 270+ stats and gave up.

jack frog17/03/2012 18:29

You want to accomplish a jump with a bug? my conscience wouldn't let me do that, lol!

gfx018/03/2012 11:38

I dont think this is possible but GL =D

Morninglullaby18/03/2012 14:22

Possible tho, with luck. :)

Very clever calculations and like I said if u remove flibo bug it would be more less than 280-282.

scmb19/03/2012 09:26

@Grrr what exactly is flibo bug ?

Grrr19/03/2012 12:37(edited 19/03/2012 13:43)

I divided the map's field on 32x32unit cells, the golden rectangles are the blocks, the orange is u'r player's collision box - viewed in plan, red is the jump trajectory. We know that the collision box doesn't rotate, so u can imagine moving the orange boxes, without rotating them. You can see that the both jumps on the left side are measured differently(red line), but the real lenght is equal(orange boxes) - because u can perform the both jumps with the same minimum distance required, but in the upper one - your landing zone (in plan) is line, and on the lower one - your landing zone can be a point.
On the right side u can see another case of flibo bug (where the jumpoff or landing block is rotated) - u can still land or jumpoff on/from a point there.
Ofcourse note that the map's net is more fine than I showed (probably 1x1 unit or less - never thought about that).

EDIT: the thing I was talking about is this http://imageshack.us/f/259/fb2u.jpg/ , more 1 of the blocks is rotated to 45 deg - more u'r orientated with u'r diagonal, so like I said ((32/cos45)-32=13.2548 units the max bonus u can get - when one of the blocks - the jumpoff or the landing blocks is rotated on 45 deg).. but still needs more rethinking :P

What the hell did you just say Grrr ?

Nannou19/03/2012 13:19

This picture, which was posted in thread "flibo bug", little wrong, but explain alot.

Yup, with parallel blocks its well explained, its little harder to understand with non-parallel(eDark explained in that thread) :P
