CS:GO

(All of this is my personal opinion and I know it's still in BETA)

So I just had a chance to play the beta and ehm..
I'm not a fan. At all.

First of all and the most important.. I just played a round on a normal dust map, and nor bhopping or dd'ing was possible.. I didn't try out longjump much, but I assume it's the same. So either you'd have to enable a setting (sv_airaccelerate 100 perhaps) or it isn't possible at all..

Now, playing a normal public game, wasn't very enjoyable either.. First of all, I didn't see much difference between this and source.. the engine might've been pushed a bit, but it's not a lot looks-wise. Sounds doesn't seem much different to me either..
Now, gameplay-wise.. It pretty much felt like Source to me, just with a lot of unnecessary stuff added into the game.. I mean, decoy grenades and molotov are fun, but they don't add much.. The normal dust map is full of random objects, which mostly seem to distract you from the objective of the game, more than anything.. (by that, I mean I was very easily confused by my surroundings).. They've also played around with recoil and by that, I mean they've added insane recoil to weapons which seem to make it impossible to spray (which is fine if you're going for a realistic gameplay, but it differs from all previous CS games, which seems weird to me).
It's also small things like the buy menu, which is totally changed and much more annyoing to use now. Buying grenades requires you to press "b, 6, 1-6" which just seems unnecessary compared to shortcuts we had before, which made a lot more sense.

There's probably more, but it's late and I can't think of anything else right now.. I apologize for the spelling errors that might have occured, but I felt like I had to get this out there right after playing the game.

I hope there will be major changes to the finished game, but for now, it's not a game I would spend money on...

sad news :/ i wanted bhopping to be atleast better than in CSS, fuck this nnow, ill pass until bhoping get available

About the menu, I'm pretty sure they changed it because the game is gonna be on multiple platforms. And it's probably why bhopping isn't possible. Valve did the same with portal 2, it isn't possible to duck in that game because it is a console game also.

My theories.

well the game also looks kind of bad. The weapons look weird, you have some retarded accessories like molotov and such. It will probably evolve new strategies but to me it doesnt feel like a cs game.. yet..
All im hoping for is that they will present Halflife3 on E3 since they said they are going there this year so i keep my hopes up.

bhop?guys valve is trying to do more realistic gameplay,how do you see people bhop in real life like in 1.6?get real guys.

The good thing with CS:GO is that they seem to listen to the community to some extent. Which they didn't do at all with CSS.

As for the jumping and stuff....I'm hoping more on the new KZ mod which seems to be finished and released very soon. So if you want to jump like 1.6 in a more modern atmosphere, wait for that!
