Need bringing up to date...
Hey guys,
I have been a member on here for many years. I was mainly active in the scene around the time of Brian, Zhady, ndR etc.
I have since for the last 3 years been starting a business/other commitments hence not even opening up Steam in all that time.
Over the xmas hols i've dug CS back out and in particular KZ, its nice to see this site is still going strong and there is plenty of fresh new tallented jumpers!
I have a few questions which i would be very intregued to know the answers;
1) When i left 255 units was the lj world rec.. now it is only (only lol) 257. Has LJ finally reached its limits? Will 260 ever be achieved?
2) What is KZMOD? has somebody on here developed it completely from scratch? If so why?
3) I saw a post on steam saying 'Save KZ!!' from what i could gather there is/was some update on the way that would some how kill kz?
4) This is the question i am probably most intregued by..
Just before i left everyone wanted to know what the 'Edark' jump was.. apparently it was almost limitless! did this ever become public?
Thanks you guys for any answers you have, any other oldschool jumpers i would be interested in your perspective of the evolution of KZ :D
sjR
1. well 260 stats have never been done, 259 have apparently been done, not sure how legit that is though, 258 block wont be far off done sometime in the near future i would imagine, has it reached it's limit? i couldn't answer that... always seems tog et improved little by little
2. KZMOD is an attempt to remake 1.6 but with better graphics and added game modes etc, should read some of the news posts if you want to know more about that
3. if i remember correctly this was a few years ago and it was to do with silent running somehow changing the duck, can't remember to much but it didn't change much at all
4. don't remember much about that :P
Isn't edark jump called dcj?If so,yes it became public. Not limitless, though.Rec is 273 bl.I think someone has done 275 bl,but i'm not sure how legit it is.
No it wasn't dcj. It was created by a guy called edark, I dont even know if he is active anymore. Faker or someone will most likely know what i mean. Thanks for your answers though guys, just downloading KZmod now to see what its all about :)
Hey sjR,
I'm glad to see some oldschooler back, and also glad you associate my nickname with some sort of "kz era" :-)
1) 258 will, in my opinion, be the humanly possible limit.
2) KZMOD has been developed for several years by Soulfather, it's a sourcemod so I believe it was completely developed from scratch, as I'm not the most active member right now, people will correct me if I'm wrong!
3) The 'Save kz' thing was done when Valve updated CS and added some sort of harsher slowdown when the CS model touched the ground, which was almost killing bhopping and so on.
4) The eDark jump was just a rumor as far as I remember, maybe a real theory about the engine but nothing doable by a human :-)
If you've got any more question, shoot.
Ah and welcome back once again.
So was this update introduced? Is it now part of moddern 1.6? I guess not as wr's seem as crazy as ever. Nice to see your still around ndR :)
Chosen made a video back when this happend.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ok9Ydhn_vlQ
And alot people posted this on their youtube channel. And our message reached developers.. they decided to let 1.6 be untouched.. so to speak.
Wow, thats incredible!
Who invented or discovered first Kreedz, and Hide-n-Seek?
Kreedz invented himself. Literally.
1) My perception of the answer to this question is; 260 is very likely possible, all you need is more strafes. airaccel 10 gives you the option to gain speed only by strafing and moving the mouse at a certain limit of speed. Being able to maximize that with very short strafes and good sync. 260 is very possible
2) KZMOD Is a mod that was getting started numerous years ago, read news about it back when I was active. It is a mod for steam. Jumping and MUCH more. Presents some new features to kz, with a lot of different maps, styles, and so on. Not an expert on this subject but, I think faker was a part of it?
3) No Idea?
4) eDark jump is something I remember being discussed, do not remember what it is.. or if it was something that was public or not.
The evolution of kz is amazing! Back when I started, people barely longjumped. The maps were so "easy" you could clear 75% of them with W-strafe. And most people were even ducking while strafing.
Noone had figured out the cj, dcj, wj, nothing like that. Just regular longjumps, and speedjumping was pretty much just jumping so you would just land on the next block because you would lose speed, noone double-ducked (until the end of my "career") after landing a jump. People have become crazy good at this game. And it is a real beauty to watch!
Alts!cH wow nice response, <3 Potatismos :D
Btw if you read this, does Kimo still play??
1) As leggie said someone (kabeN) did 259 stats but he's the only one with his polak friends who thinks its not cheated. Someone will rape the 258 soon or later for sure but I don't know about the 259. 260 is not possible for human hands imo.
You can see some amazing "stats" on this thread http://xtreme-jumps.eu/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?102905
2) KZmod made but SoUlFaThEr during 7 years. You should go on www.kzmod.com to understand everything.
3) You got a full answer already.
4) eDark jump category 2 was a rumor made by Numb. With 2 super hard techn you were suppose to gain +2000 pre wich is impossible. After this thread kayne made some cheated demo with the amxboost plugin (wich give you boost of 2000speed). It was undetectable with fps_death so people thought of edj2.. Well it was not. More information here http://xtreme-jumps.eu/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?127885.post
5) Kimo plays sometimes like 1-2 hours per years but he still around on teamspeak, steam.
btw waat for a oldschool boy, nice to see you Alts!cH !
Just about the edark jump 2, it's a real thing, but this is stupid to even try to do it. This is more like an quake engine joke. So we can forget about it, it's useless.

I'd say his avatar is edark jump
The only person who can truly answer the myth about the Edark jump is Mr Edark himself! Is he still active? There was seriously a big buzz around the place about it and he was adament it was 100% legit. Can't believe barely anyone remembers this.
There was an interview with eDark just some weeks ago. Look for it on the news page. The fact eDark is staying silent about this monster technique is kind of a bitch move imo. He did not confirm this technique, neither proved numB wrong. When this discussion started, this so called "untouchable" Kreedz specialist didn't join for a single statement, yet he was more related to it than anyone else. Also, if you look through the thread you will notice NumB is nothing but an attention whore. He claimed this jump would be the "death of Kreedzing", but why did he mention it in the first place? Everybody became curious and wanted to know how it works. Either he made a big joke or he's really stupid if he couldn't predict that. All in all this whole hype about this mysterious jump seemed like a big joke, a game these two hackers wanted to play with us.
If this jump actually exists, I think NumB just discovered this bug in theory, but never could execute it in the game.
I'm going to put forward the theory i've suspected all along...
There is no such thing as the 'Edark Jump', all those involved (Edark himself to those who claim to be have witnessed) made big fame within the community by making everyone question the future of kz.
sh00t me.
