French language.
Hey guys, again need help with school. So I have a French test coming about time. I know how to write unofficial times, such as Il est onze heures. But now I need official times. If anyone could explain me or send me some kind of example, I'd be glad. Tried google, but didn't find any results. Hope you guys understand what I mean.

Teacher told us there are 2 different ways to tell times, one is what French people almost never use - that being formal/official ways of telling time. And the second being unofficial ways of telling times - what people use all the time.

ur teacher never explained to you what was the "official" time and how to write it? i don't really understand to be honest.
do u know what "onze heures et quart" is? maybe thats what ur teacher meant i dunno. i kind of doubt it tho since everyone uses this way of telling the time

Teacher wrote on the blackboard one example, but I don't remember it. It was 15:15. One way to write it is "Il est trois heures et quart". There was another way, which she called "The official way". It was something like dix-sept heures et quinze. Yes, finzer, I know this. This, according to her, is the unofficial/unformal way of telling time. She told that most of people use that way. Fuaark, I'm fucked tomorrow, when there's test.
was it : treize heure et quinze ?

20h45 = vingt heure (et) quarante cinq (you usually dont say the "et")
18h34 = dix huit heure (et) trentre quatre
ok one example 15:15 is : quinze heures quinze minutes and 12:30 is douze heures trente minutes...
... if thats what she called the official time. hope this helps, i dont see what else it could be

30 = demi
9h15 = neuf heures quinze (minutes) / neuf heures un quart
9h30 = neuf heures trente (minutes) / neuf heures et demi
9h45 = neuf heures quarante cinq (minutes) / dix heures moins quart; or dix heures moins quinze

Exemple 16h45, you can't use dix-sept heures moins le quart, but only seize heures quarante-cinq because 16h45 > 12h

Got the test 5 (the best grade) actually, made 2 mistakes, but they were minor ones. Have watched only few, such as Vertigo, Psycho.
So here is the answer to all my russian classes problems - XJ :D how could I never thought of that, too bad I don't have russian classes anymore :D
