This is fucking osom, quick update, no data loss, ewvything so smooth. The best thing about it for me tho is notification center - now i can install fb app and get notified with msgs on my pc too. Couldn't talk with Cortana yet though i have experience with her on my phone. Very smooth 10/10.
Now you, Did you update yet? Do you like it? Encountered bugs? Share your experience.
There's an icon that says ''get windows 10'', I clicked on it and it says they'll notify me when available :/
31/07/2015 12:52Go there http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 and upgrade. I guess ms did it to reduce the load put on their servers so they put everyone in a line but i jumped over it.

Few months back? You most have used the preview version sicne it was realesed yesterday.
It's ok, but some really annoying bugs/problems atm, i get a black screen on my primary monitor when connecting my tv to my pc, it boots up sooooo slow, even wind7 was faster, and in counter-strike i get this strange fps drop which doesn't go away if i don't go to my desktop, hopefully Microsoft will fix all this soon.
Also it seems you can't turn off mouse acceleration :(
I installed W10 yesterday, and it seems pretty good, nice plataform, beautiful style, very very fast, I had no trouble installing it, and no trouble since I'm using it. I loved the notification center too. Really smooth and enjoyable.

They are still doing some major updates and some people advise not to upgrade the upcoming weeks =(

I have no ads issues... about the privacy, I know W10 comes with a KeyLogger, but it can be easily removed with a few commands on cmd. I didn't see other privacy issue.

I am on SSD it boots within a few seconds, cs feels the same no fps drops, no mouse accel.

Couldn't care less about ads in built in games, even if i would that's fair since the system is free for some. Don't feel safe anymore having child porn on my drive.

01/08/2015 10:36(edited 01/08/2015 10:38)I have noticed some things: when you click an app on the start menu to maximize/minimize animation is so smooth like a baby's ass but then we have Steam, no animation at all and a bit of delay for the text appearing while typing. icevip noticed when you click the clocks at the bottom right the calendar for some reason waits 0.5 seconds and only then decides to show up. Also, if you pick a window, hold it and drag towards the right/left edge of the screen to make it fit half of your screen so when you do that and have any other windows on the background the system highlights them and wants you to choose one of them to fit the other half of the screen which is, imo, dumb. sure it has some logic behind it but there might be more to it for user, i'm just used to have small steam chat window at the right and chrome at the left side of my screen.

As for the privacy issues. This is nothing new. Have a look at the win7 network packets with wireshark for example.
Just use Linux or Mac.

No one gives a damn about you, you're one in 7.000.000.000+. Your individual private data doesn't help anybody. If someone records data on such a large scale it's not to spy on you, it's for further improvements.

Good point, not. You mention ads in built-in games but forget about the biggest thing about this, dx12.

Everything above applies to release version actually. None of the data collecting methods nor keylogger were removed from the preview version.

Believe it or not, but all your data and input has to unencrypted at some point for the processing, it may shield from some software (keyloggers), but not from the system that can log all of your activity. Keylogger itself is really not a problem here, it can be disabled. The problem is system itself collects unspecified and unlimited data about users. Paranoia has nothing to do with it (it really doesn't matter if the data is used to sell you stuff or for something else), everyone should be aware of what their system does and must be able to choose, not being forced, if some people are fine with - it doesn't mean its okay for everyone. Mac and Linux already provide flexible system & data encryptions, clear privacy statements and open for audit, so those systems are way ahead of Windows.

Online accounts and networking related privacy issues always existed on all systems one way or another, and really not related to windows10 system privacy questions raised on the Internet past days. Apple doesn't make their operation systems to collect usage information, its done through accounts with clear ToS and other security statements.
Microsoft doesn't do that through accounts in windows10, but the system itself, without clear specification of what it collects and what for, even if you disable it. People are not given a fair choice nor disclosure, so I can see why they are not happy with upgrading to win10.

Good point, not. You mention ads in built-in games but forget about the biggest thing about this, dx12.
That would be the case a couple years ago. DX12 is overhyped at this point. Developers already adapting OpenCL and OpenGL widely that became quite powerful over the years. With Vulcan that is basically the same as DX12, just without many restrictions like OS or hardware - DX12 will be limited to exclusives and lag behind for some time. Its a bit early to invest in that from a user/gamer perspective. Have to see yet how that situation develops further, that may take quite some time.
01/08/2015 16:29Got my first major bug with win10, or more precisely video drivers for it, I tried to play l4d2 and the game started fine, only one problem, the screen was black... Seems like a common issue after some googleing.
I had to switch into bios from switchable graphics to discrete, and found this solution on my own after trying many "fixes" found on steam forums...
Guys, is there already a Service Pack out that they fixed some major bugs or something?
