I am going to create this thread because its hard to follow for users the chatbox talk and later maybe the news comments.

Let's try to focus the discussion on to this thread for a better following solution.
-------

Background:
XJ was building slowly a concept over the past years fo csgo, where House of Climb was already a successful starting point for jumping in go as it was xtreme-climb for source.

After the small success of the kzcup in go from kzclimb, csgo got a bit attention of the gaming community backing price pool, press release....

XJ came to a discussion with kzclimb about working together and even after it isnt fully discussed and closed off. It is now a major discussion since yesterday on kzclimb: http://www.kz-climb.com/index.php?threads/merging-with-xtreme-jumps.1451/

-------

So why discussing it with the whole community when its not even finished by discussing it even internally.
No wonder that on both sides its just only hating and bitching.
If you just look over the first site its all about hate and how big kzclimb is.

jusuuh05/05/2016 23:25

At this point I don't have much else to say than this: http://www.kz-climb.com/index.php?threads/merging-with-xtreme-jumps.1451/page-3#post-13561

Fantasm05/05/2016 23:37

Just dont destroy the 1.6 aspect of XJ any further whatever you do

Double Post because my own oppinion has nothing todo with the background info:

For myself kz csgo is a downgrade because they are using sourcemod plugins to have movement advantages above the normal movement system. Which is from a jumper who started in the early days a no go. I can still remember back when there wasn't a climbtimber as plugin or checkpoints available. We only got a scout at joining and nothing else. the good old kzmaps.co.uk server :D

But going now back to csgo. Sometimes i still try jumping in csgo but doesnt feel right with the axn movementstyle. Then csgo has no major jumping hub to exchange. Even after their so called merging with House of Climb. Both still exists and both communities are split further. There is no real exchanging from that perspectiv.

Also there is no real clarification or rules out how records or recordings has been handled. More or less jumping in CSGo looks for me more like a privat party where you have to connect with somebody to get insides of the community or how things are going to be handled.

There is even a wierd inside maptagging rule to get into the globalmaplist
We didn't wanted in the past a low port of our maps, so the author removed by request the tag but still in the globalmaplist it is still listed as the originalname.
[blockquote]"this might lead to the map being disabled from global records since it doesn't follow the standard of bunnyhop-based maps being prefixed with "bkz_"[/blockquote]

----------
Conclusion:
CSGo Movement is different yes, is it challenging? Maybe, its sort of axn so its fast. For jumpers/users who wants it fast without much technics. Its an alternativ.

But for me its still not for me.
It would be great to have it under one major hub. But more or less when this is going to happen, one or the other has to sacrifice them or both to make a major hub.
Then CSGO needs rules and clarification like KreedZ & KZmaps had done it for recordings and records.

More or less communication is just the key. With a merger or creating a new community for everything, there will be hating and loving. We humans are to different for each other.

Since jumping is existing nearly in every game, there can be different hubs for different games like Q3 defrag or other games. And for that the XJ branding is to established to give it up.

There are zero sourcemod plugins giving any movement advantages, the only plugins that csgo kz uses are for prestrafe because valve simply removed it in the game itself and a terrible( in my opinion ) plugin to mimic count-jumps for jumpstats only(doesn't work when timer is on running maps). Also the kz-climb / hoc merger was just the kz-climb servers were shutting down and so hoc set up a new server with the kz-climb database so that some people could preserve their map times etc.

Can kzgo records be made on lan server? So far I heard they cannot and recording WRs on public servers looks kinda lame to me.

Why are they using bkz_tag for their maps tho? Do they even know what it stands for ?

For them it's "bhop kreedz".

Bulgarian Kreedz , but for some dumb reason someone a while ago in csgo decided to name maps with like 70-100% bhop blocks as "bhop kreedz/bkz"

FuZzy1 mapper06/05/2016 17:09

The only reason I hate kz in csgo is axn style bhop. Kz is meant to be played with default settings. So there isn't, by default, any prestrafe, cj, and bhop is hard to make, boo hoo... It's a different game stop trying to make it like 1.6.
You can still jump and strafe with default settings, that is enough for me to play kz.
So if this merge will happen or if xj will add csgo kz to the site, I hope that playing with default settings will be the main rule.

Playing csgo kz with default settings will never happen sorry to burst your bubble.

FuZzy1 mapper06/05/2016 17:17

Why not? You can't get from point A to point B by jumping, that's kz to me.

Well you would have to remove a lot of the maps by changing the settings, and you would have to delete everything in terms of map records / jump stats , etc and nobody would play csgo kz on 64 tick default settings.

WeMeRA06/05/2016 17:23

The discussion is not about which game is better. The discussion is about merging with kz-climb and having all the kz platforms under the same roof. To many ppl still continue talking about which game is better (mostly from XJ, from what I've seen atleast) which is irrelevant.

If a merge would happen it does not force you to play csgokz so I do not see how ones opinion about the other kz platform would even matter. So please could we stop talking about which game is better to play on and start discussing the possible merge instead, please?

Having default settings for csgokz with a possible merge would be impossible. Why? They already built up a community with active players with the settings they have atm. The bunnyjumps would be inconsistent and not controlable at all. Also it would be boring as hell to play csgokz with default mm settings.

I don't see why not, as long as it's movement based cs substance, I rejoice the diversity, popularity and comfortableness this idea provides us with. For those who don't like the game of others there'll still be your community present, your interest is your own choice, you don't owe anyone to follow the other's side of site.

As it goes further with the dicussion on kz-climb it's largely coming down to the look of the site right now, which I have to agree with is outdated and frankly rubbish.

Regarding the conversation going in this thread - just let the guys do their job as they like it. It looks like they are doing fine the way things present now, at least I haven't heard any complaints from kz-climb homelanders so far. I would rather like to hear a word from our coders regarding the ideas on a new site.

I have to agreed with Fuzzy1 on this one.Realy cs:go kz looks like you play axn all the time...just isn't fun

I also agree with Fuzzy1.
XJ should make the rule for default settings.
The only reason kz-climb would have to delete some of their maps is cuz they implemented that "gain-speed" or whatever and every1 made maps like they thought it should be.
You can complete alot of maps and pretty fast with default anyway.
I dont like the idea of merging with them but you want to do it because of the attention they got.Untill few months ago you did nothing on CSGO section to "grab" some more people for our site.

For example of default run https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wpD3lSs-JY

You would not only have to delete maps because of impossible jumps, but you would have to reset every single map time and all jumpstats. And like i said thats never going to happen. https://youtu.be/rutqlSLf4J0 Here's a video of the current WR on that map.

FuZzy1 mapper07/05/2016 16:17

I started playing kz because I saw some strafe jumps on inferno. Played for more than a year without bhoping or knowing what's hj, cj or even prestrafing. It was the period when I enjoyed kz the most.
The axn style kz is also on 1.6, called bhop mod if I'm not mistaken. Never liked it, never played it.

If playing with default settings will be adopted I'll gladly play csgo kz, maybe even make some maps ;)

DanZay mapper07/05/2016 21:13

I wouldn't expect the CSGO settings to change (significantly). I can guarantee that a vast, VAST majority of current CS:GO KZers will not accept the change and are happy with the current, well established settings. A change simply wouldn't happen. Zpamm mentions a lot of good reasons why it would generally be a bad idea also.

If XJ wanted a ruleset for CS:GO then it should have been done a long time ago. You'll have to accept what it is now.

Feel free to ask me questions. Peace.
