Is shNz the greatest KZ player to date?
Overall:
I remember gamster's comment sometime back from around 2009 or so where he said, " I think zhady is the best cause the effortless calm style that he has."
Years after that, I still feel that comment is so true. It didn't feel he was trying hard, I don't like 3426728 strafes, I prefer less effort, more output. The guy did everything, climb, bhop and all.
So ya, for me it's ZHADY.

It's hard to pick up a single guy or style. I'll just try to drop a few lines about the greats.
Koukouz revolutionized climb & proved u can reach an astonishing level w/out having world-class bhop skill like that of shNz/toffiffee
The concepts/works of Koukouz was being improved by lewly, and took the kz world by storm when he took away j2s4tunnels, and literally never stopped back. He took the kz climbing to a new level, by greatly improving ingame bhops.
shNz never really appeared "in" the scene, he was already there, he just improved himself by leaps and bounds over the years and now has reached a stage which is literally untouchable. The best past about the guy is, he's never complacent and the kind of opponent you'll ever should fear. He's taken the dd's & muscle memory to a new level.
(A true story, around '10, an IRL friend of me asked, who's gonna take the goldbhop, I think it was kelta' s rec back at the time. Blatantly I replied, imo shNz is gonna take up all bhop maps in due time. After 8 years, it all became true)
Shooting Star is hard to interpret, he's got nerves of steel, it's not easy to do those godlike sc's in a map, and then pretend it never happened, and carry on your regular run. Some of shooting's demos are gonna stay there tilll the time XJ dies down, and nobody can take them out.
Toffifee is precise, has great manoeuvrability, the one's demos you can always watch, combos and dexterity in a single package.
In term of smoothness/beauty/strafe-sexyness, lrs-toff-glp-noxer-ShoCk-fyksen-throttle are amazing to watch.

OT: shNz is so mind blowing that it came to the point where it stops to amaze me, really. He just keeps it quality and beauty throughout the years in every single demo. But also, shooting-star made really good point right there. I'd give my vote for toff, both skill and play style. It's incredible how every little movement of him is so reasonable and well thought-out, the feel he has for the game is unrivalled. Plus he does records so easily, most of the time it's the first lan launch. Even after weeks/months pause. <3

Why g-Lp since I picked koukouz first? Well, g-Lp probably one of the only players to have surf, slide, bhop, kz, long, short and trick maps under his belt, he has every kind of world record in the scene, I know surf isn't in the XJ scene, but still it is a strafe thing and he clearly outperforms most of the players, so he is actually the "complete kz player". Imo top1 still goes to koukouz, but g-Lp is so close to the top3 I mentioned before.
Plus he does records so easily, most of the time it's the first lan launch. Even after weeks/months pause. ... hahaha i understand that he is from Russia 2 but cmon man hahahaha shNz will never stop to amaze me, stop writing bullshits pls
shNz isn't about style, he is fast and that's it. I doesn't matter how many strafes or movement he does or whatever, in the end, he is always faster in any bhop map he wants and like someone said: I've never seen shNz lose a battle. Personally, I prefer KeltA much more smooth style in bhopping but shNz goes hard and I always thought that who so ever owns goldbhop, is the best bhopper at the time.
and I don't know who the best KZ of all time is but this might tell something:
how shnz is perfected it becames a little not-interesting to me to watch

shnz is not only the greatest kz player of all time, he is also the nicest man to ever live on earth.
shNz would almost be a household name by now, if kz was popular enough. He pushed the limits of the engine to some other level altogether. Yeah there are obviously other good bhoppers that'll come and go and break some extraordinary records every now and then, but I doubt anyone would take the throne of "The God of bhop" from shNz till the end of xj and kz altogether. So years from now, during a time when shNz will have no records to his name, when any newcomer who has freshly joined xj asks who is the bhop legend, we all will know who's name to pick.
There are so many maps out there that require different types of abilities, techniques etc. shNz's bhopping(not only) is without a doubt godlike but the question is somewhat abstract.
I am inlove with his style but I just cannot forget to mention stormZz. His bhops were freaky.
Climb-wise, I'd go with zhady.
P.S I have not been in touch with the KZ scene lately, therefore I cannot express a more accurate opinion. The current guys in the spotlight seem to be extremely pro, as well.
