what's your max sync?
@TROUbl3m4k3R
if you are able to jump like the red line with a sync of 95% your airspeed would be very high but I guess it's impossible.
If you jump like the green line with a sync of only 50% your maxspeed won't be as high as if you do it with a sync of 95%, don't you agree?
i just agree to 1/2.
1: maxspeed would not be that high in red line with 95% because i wrote "long hangtime in air before next strafe"
in this time u will slow down.
2. i agree with that. but as i wrote
the timing of the strafes (angle of the strafe and duration of the strafe) is MUCH more important to do a good longjump distance as the prestrafe, maxspeed, synchronical stuff
so. do exact same strafe length and angle. once with 50% sync and once with 95% sync. then i would say too the one with 95% sync was a better, longer, longjump.
BUT
what i wanted to say is:
bad strafelength, bad strafeangle, but good sync
will have lover longjump then
good strafelength, good strafe angle, but not that good sync
imo
so imo i say the angle and length is MUCH more important then the sync.
for sure, sync is also something which is important, BUT only when strafelength and strafeangle are good.
i don't know it for sure from hlengline but i think so
I don't believe you L0w!
Hello guys,
Please don't speculate what the "sync" value is. Numb has released the source code of his plugin, and we all can check that.
Let's say, the plugin's function is called every frame. This is not how it works in reality but let's assume this is. So, every frame when you're in air, after jump and before landing, the plugin calculates your speed and compares it with speed from the previous frame. It counts times when your speed decreased and when your speed increased. And the "sync" value is the percentage ratio of frames when your speed increased. So if you did 90 sync, that means in 10% frames your speed decreased, or, which is more likely, kept the same value as in previous frame.
So, as you can see, this is not an exactly "keyboard/mouse synchronization" or whatever.
Furthermore, I had once written a cheat that pushed the appropriate strafes when you moved your mouse. And with it I could not do even 250. The syncronization was almost perfect, but the speed and "sync" value, as you can guess, were not.
This is because the actual speed-increasing part of the half-life engine is unknown. We all know that you have to move mouse and press strafes, but it takes a lot of time to master this technique.
@r3bel
You are right but I didn't say that the sync is the only thing which is responsible for a good maxspeed. There is a connection between airspeed and the sync value because you can't reach a maxspeed of 330+ units/s with a sync value of only 20%. Just do a lot of longjumps, watch the stats in the console and you will realize that everytime your sync value is high your airspeed is also high and the other way round.
@TROUbl3m4k3R
Lets say that all the facts depend on each other and decide whether your longjump is good or bad.
i had 250 onground with 5 strafes and 90 sync ^^
How I can increase synchronisation? My record 80 with 5 strafes...
sry for my bad english :(
Drive your mouse on a surface where you clearly hear your mousemovents or so? Otherwise I guess it's just about training.

Well maybe he forgoted to duck ;]
273 pre, 317 max, 97 sync, 6 strafes
PHAIL
hate my surferministrafes
i had a 92 sync 6 str...
96sync with 5 strafes..
100 sync with 6 strafes, 98 sync with 7 strafes and 95 sync with 8 strafes long time ago.
37 strafes 0 sync xD
