1. ctrl+alt+del
2. Task Manager
3. Processes
4. Find and right click on hl.exe
5. Set priority

try low, if wont work maybe try high priority.... I am using high priority and I have a constant 99.99 fps without any drops (even no 98) and a bunch of other programs working (my cpu is 1.8 ghz)

i have a question coderiz is this priority agains the rules and do u have to change it everytime u start the game ?(if not how)

maniac23/03/2008 15:19(edited 23/03/2008 15:19)

maybe spyware! :-/
try to check ur pc with ad-aware, spybot or sth. like this!

deus?23/03/2008 15:37

yep it could be spyware or similar shit. full format can be the best choise :> but try to set priority first :>

It is possible to configure a shortcut, which would start a program with a custom priority.

This is how you do it:
1. Right click on shortcut and select Properties
2. Select Shortcut tab
3. At the begining of Target field add this:
cmd /c start /High here-goes-all-the-rest
(make sure that there are no quotes in this field, remove them if there is)

Here is a howto about the same:

However I am not sure how to do it if you are starting CS throught steam.

moved to the help area, please post your thread in the right direction next time ^^

ot:
Check your video card driver for "unusual" settings, I have had this problem many times and allways because I did some wrong changes in the driver.
Also try to update your driver if you have never done that :P

famGan23/03/2008 18:29

hm video card looks fine ill try priority i did update driver and nor viruses on my computer

maybe i need a format but first PRIROITY

Thx all

maniac23/03/2008 19:51

did you check your pc for spyware too?

famGan23/03/2008 20:40

how should i try that :O

ZombY-24/03/2008 11:03

HHAHAHA guys i had 36 vyruses with 6 trojan horses :DD

deus?25/03/2008 14:38

dont watch pornsites next time :D

bunnyT25/03/2008 20:52

its typical for viruses to connect after some u connected to the internet. So ofc. ur fps will drop.

Now HF removing trojans i bet u wont be able to delete them all with all of yours antivirus programms.. trojans are the worst thing u can get, i had like 3 and couldnt delete them with 5 world-famous antivirus programms. I tried all the options that programms offered, i even formatted c, but they were still there.

The only one freeware that helped me was autoruns.exe so i could see what dlls and exe files booted with windows and deleted them manually with avenger.

Just wrote that to warn you not to download too much warez, especially keygens for programms.

ZombY-27/03/2008 20:40

delted em :)
