the perfect jump
mh.. what about making an thread with a kz-physic lesson
The jump time can be calculated, as jump time in RL:
t(h)=sqrt(2*h/g), g - sv_gravity, h - jump Height.
The jump time with duck is always the same (0,732..)
Remeber, what if u need to calculate jump time u should summ jump time of jumping up and falling down (!)
Vertical velovity:
V=g*t
The edgefriction lenght area (from, the edge to the player) can be calculated as:
L=13,6*sin(a), a - angle between direction of move and direction of view in moment of the jump off.
Maximum speed can be reached with stafing of speed 120 grad/sec.
Am i right ?
Just wait for eDark xD

well pulsar got the point, this is really impossible, cuz you cant do a bounce w/o slowdown with velocity >= than 120% weapons normal running speed.. I tried to make lj script which change yawspeed through jump and speed (not for cheating ofc.) but I didnt manage to get it, there is a "curve" (well, nothing curved is perfectly fluent at cs but whothehellcaresImspeakinaboutshitagain) nonetheless its obviously possible to make script/plugin which will make player to fly around, changing yawspeed and record speed differences to get the "curve" but I really dont thing someone wants to make it :) even edark
Originally posted by Pulsar!Wrong. The jump time is 0,7320926314 = 73 frames, so u can not do more than 73 stafes. The maximum speed, what u can reach per one strafe is 26,4 units per second. => The speed of 2000 units per second will be reached ~ 66-th frame, not first..
how the hell did you get it? hust try to jump prestrafe-only lj, and you will easilly get maxspeed >310 which means with 270 prestrafe del of about 1/jumplenght*speedΔ > about 55 units/s^2
well triple_ecks thats not enough :) you need more values like deflection of jump curve blablabla, it is able to approximately calculate with speed of each frame, there are variables like acceleration of identical strafe in different speed and so on.. I also dunno if there is constant accelerate directly proportional to gravity (yes, quite easy to figure out but im too lazy.. if you want, measure it and post here)
just a little for mathematics.. Nonetheless give me all values and ill make a formula for ya :)
Its also pretty useless.. how long did you think it take anyone in lj records to record his demo? and how long would it take him to do It 50 times in a row at "hardest map"? :S

Are you sure about this? Try this server ljstats: (I dunno how does it count the time) But I wouldnt say its wrong since with bhop you jump lower
147.175.10.205:27021
How the max speed can be more than pre speed, if u jump pre only ? But it is still more.. That is happens becouse u stafe after the jumping off in direct of prestrafe.. Use plugin, which shows how many speed u gain by individual strafe..
About jump time: Ofc, i mean only ljs and cjs, with bhoping u jumps a bit lower, but with bhoping with stand up a bit higher, than a simple bhoping, but still lower than regular jump..
And by 120 grad/s, you mean...degrees?
first try ~

Yes)
AMXX actually isn't that accurate that it could say the time you're in air.
i do maths and physics and to work out x you would need the acceleration which is impossible to workout as each strafe adds different ammounts of speed let alone different ammounts of time. and surely y would be the maximum height a max can be - the height achieved my the a player jumping
sorry missed the point of perfect, according to whoever max acceleration is 26.4units per frame and max speed is reached at 66 frames from this point u wud calculate the height reached after 66 frames and get the velocity at this time then set that as initial velocity and 2000 as final find out the time taken for this to happen then subtract that from the total time to fall the whole distance down and then find out how far is left to fall once 2000 is reached vertically then find the distance travled horizontally during the first 66 frames and add that to 2000xthe time calculated previously to find x
