try to enjoy your country for what it has to offer, not for what it doesn't. maybe then you will see it with different eyes.

In germany we got too many foreigners from turkey and other countries
who don't want to integrate themselves into society. 90% of them go to the "hauptschule" (the lowest level of education you can actually get, except for "no-education-at-all" (after the hauptschule you can become butcher). Most of them think they're pLayaZzZ.
Even as a completely non-racist person you sometimes get aggressions seeing those noobs.
Besides we have the "middle-leveled school" the "realschule" and the highest level - the "gymnasium". If you want to achieve anything in life I suggest you to go that school.

you forgot to say that germans are tought to hate foreigners in their very first years of school! we still got "rassenkunde"/ethnogeny in school. also, youve forgotten to mention the "sonderschule" which is a even lower leven than "hauptschule" for handicaped ppl and ppl who are even too dumb to go to a "hauptschule".

Ehm, I probably have a bit different perspective on what's going on here. See, I might be lucky for studying in a good school with teachers, dedicated to their work, even though they're payed way less than what they deserve. I'll never forget what one of my teachers said when I was graduating- "All my life, I worked as if my job was a mission, may you find your missions in whatever you love doing."

Like 75% of my class continued studying in foreign countries, because they have no opportunities in here. Sad to admit, but I myself am going to do the same. Two of my best friends are currently in the University of St. Andrews, Scotland and the rest are scattered around Europe and the USA. The principal said that about 60% of the graduates are leaving the country to continue studying. Why's that? The fact is that if they were two stay here, they'd be taxi drivers or something else, working on minimum wage. Those two friends I was talkin about earlier were part of a group that participated in the NASA space settlement contest and won second place. Romanians got the first! Those people have their dreams and they're willing to persue them, but when they simply can't do it in Bulgaria, why would they stay?

Learn how to appreciate what's out there, it's your country after all, don't hate it. Everything has it's downsides and upsides, learn to understand the equilibrium of good and bad and you won't be stuck with wrong beliefs. I can totally understand h1m1's point and I absolutely agree with him, maybe because we're from the same generation and share a similar vision on the whole situation in Bulgaria. Apparently, it's a bit different when it comes to younger ones. Every Balkan country needs young people like Nikola. Indifference is a sin, ignorance, even greater. That's all I wanted to say.

Since this thing went slightly off-topic, here's how it goes in Bulgaria:
Normally, we start school at the age of 6-7. There's something like pre-school, but it's optional and depends on where you live. We have 7 grades and after that we have to do a series of exams, determining which high-school you can attend, depending on your score. We apply for highschool and there are 5 more grades, a total of 12. After graduating, we have mature exams and university applications. That's how it goes, but truth is, many give up along the way. Why would someone crave for education when he/she could be one of the many who choose to stray from that path and give up to drugs, alcohol, strive against the fucked up government, trying to be something in the very same eyes of those, responsible for it, seeking the recognition of the criminal world, just because they think it's easier to go this way.

I'm a bit pesimistic about the new government, but hey, it's all we've got and we might as well hope for a change for the better.

Good point boombilla and Cretu, don't think those problems you mentioned are local. Appreciate what you've got to the fullest extent, and then beyond, 'cause you never really know what you got, until it's gone (Immortal Technique <3).

Stoka i`m not indiferent , i protest against the system every chance i get . The only thing i want is for the guverment to STOP stealing our money and START doing something good with this country .

But when i see youg, amazingly smart romanian students left to work like a no-name i just have a felling like "i want to burn the guverment". It makes me sick :(

we have so many smart peoples , we have A LOT of doctors working in foreingt countryes , we have so many IT specialists working at Microsoft ......is very very sad that the other guverments HELP smart romanians but romanian`s guverment don`t do shit to offer them something good to work at .

I never saw a poor romanian in another country . Every romanian that lives this country is kind of rich .....except gipsyes .

Finland, the socialistic shithole of Europe. The government nurtures people so much it's ridiculous. It's freaking cold here, the relative crime rate is really high, people are shy (not excluding myself) and the term smart drinking is rarely understood.

Anything positive? Clean drinking water is only i can think of. Yup don't come to Finland.

I'd like to see Brazil, Japan and NL emerged. Climate and women from Brazil, courtesy and manners from Japan and legislation from NL :)
