Do you feel deserted recent on KZ???
Answers to your questions/affirmations:
- Many admins are students: final exams period at the moment.
- Small releases require much more work in my opinion, I prefer spending 2 hours doing a ~20 demo release than 3 times 40min doing 3 small releases.
- Every help is welcome, we're almost always looking for new admins, if you are that active, mature enough and skilled for the job, do not hesitate to send us an application: we don't only accept admins' friends as you might heard, that's bullshits.
- A huge discussion is going on in our internal forum about the new mapchecking system: we don't want to start map checking again with a weak system which will "die" in 2 months.
- You cannot even imagine how many things are going on, but they're of course hidden, you will discover our new features soon I hope.
If you want those things to be done quickly I strongly suggest you to encourage and support m0ver which spends many hours per day for you guys.
There has always been a lack of activity just before the summer in XJ, that's like that. I personally have final exams for 2 weeks, much work to do, an appartment to handle, more hours to do at work, and my girlfriend between all of this, just so you know :)

I mean..a little decline.
You see Supa\Flibo&kunqui bubble Forum but not beat demo...
and skicg kelta puppetz???where are they?
only zhady will appear in the news sometimes.
Almost no big God reappear.
It stands to reason, weather warming up,it should be more player became active, both newschool and oldschool. But it is not so.
So,I eagerly await heL's return.
Forgive my bad English
when summer comes and some of the geeks are in vacantions there are more demos :) In bkz last year I made releases on 15 17 19 21 22 25 27 29 30 august with 15 demos @ each release :) but now I made 1 release per month ..

If 4 mapcheckers would do their job, developing the new mapchecking system would already be done. Stop doing these huge discussion and better start coordinating things.
I don't want to blame anyone (especially the XJ crew) but... Remember the thopa times? Release twice a week. That was quite something. I agree with akkord, it's a bit of a draft that releases take so long but I totally understand the feelings of the admins, I know it's a huge job to make a release. I think XJ should get a few more demo admins to split the work, It's hard to get them but I'm sure there are some people willing to do it, they just don't know themselves that they're needed, so you might need to look for them.
I wouldn't blame summer. Summer is the time of geeking for many, including me (notice how most of my records are from vacations).
It's just that there are some days I don't have time at all for anything except university/work/gf and I will have my full Saturday without my gf at home, without work and with nothing at all to do : I make releases during these moments.
I think thopa had an organized and planned schedule that didn't change much from a week to another, which isn't my case at all, I work at different days every week for example :)
how about you guys stop looking for every single flaw in a map and just worry about massive short cuts and if the map is fun and looks good ... if it is fun and no map killers then release the shit . stop trying to be elitist perfection nazis with every lil detail of a map
i think a lot of you(members) don't understand the "responsability" behind all of XJ.
xj crew does a great job, although they take a lot of time

not entirely truth and you know it. sorry
I agree with your comment Flibo, but there is one problem. Being a demo admin first of all requires some knowledge. It is not like if XJ signs 5 new admins they can start working immediately. First of all edark has to introduce them to all programs and how demos are checked.
But I also have to agree with R3GULAToR (even though I don't support his vulgar language). Admins spend a lot of time on useless stuff no one really benefits from, if you ask me.

MepH, essp, Cypek and resolute are our new cup admins.
Are they admins' "friends"?
No, most of the admins didn't even know who was essp for example.
They sent PMs to admins, offering their helps, we had a talk with all the admins in our internal forum and accepted them.
It could have been you, or somebody else.
Admins didn't personally know CyclopP either, we just thought of him because his maturity, behavior and view of things distanced himself from the other members in the forum, then we choose to contact him and asked him if he was interested by joining XJ's Staff.

lol i used one cuss word it was not a vulgar comment
And that makes sense ndR? You DISCUSS it, which basicly means if you don't like somebody, you could say shit about him.

lol ndR who cares that an "unknown" guy is in xj I know them before they were xj admins , but its not the point how much u are famous in kz world .. It would be very stupid to choose only famous guys to enter in xj crew imo.

But how else would they choose 'new' guys? How can they trust them to be good admins? I was and still am unknown guy but I showed some work in order to apply for admin. So new guys have to do the same.
So just because someone is famous, he also can be trusted? I don't even want to think what would happen if kkz would be an admin in here lol..

He must be one of the most famous jumper out there nowadays, he offered his help to become an admin several times and we refused, everytime.
m0ver meant that it's easier to make a choice about somebody you know than somebody you don't know. It's easy to pretend this and that, acting mature 5 minutes for an application.
Just imagine 5 seconds...
You got your own company, you are looking for a new executive.
One of the other executive tells you that he knows someone with the good skills, who would fit perfectly the job, won't you prefer to pick him instead of an unknown person?
And it's not even really comparable to real life since there are diplomas to prove your abilities, there's (of course and fortunately) nothing comparable here.
You are complaining about things like that, but I think you should visit the other e-game communities, they never ask members' opinions, they just do what they want, and nobody complains.
Why do complains happen there?
For a simple reason: we try to communicate with you as much as possible, we try to be as close as possible to members: this is why you think you can assert that much your ideas.
"Give your hand and they will take your arm" - that pretty much sums the situation up.
The difference between this community and other communities is that this community is made for the players, in other communities, players are for the community. And they don't complain because they don't have anything to complain about. Other communities don't make standars for something, also there are many communities that use the same "pattern" (for example there are thousands of regular cs communities), so if you don't like the community, you can move over to another one.
And I don't think you should trust somebody becuse he's famous, but because he really is trustworthy.
those 4 are cup admins, cyclopp is/was a map admin i think? not rly a boost to the news'
I disagree with you remake:
The other communities' members don't complain because they're not used to give their opinion about any way the website chooses to follow.
It could be either good or bad, they will just shut up, because if they do, the only answer they get (from the admins but especially the members) is: "you can leave the community if you dislike it".
Where did I talk about famous persons?
There's a huge difference between fame and having relations.
Originally posted by remakeAnd I don't think you should trust somebody becuse he's famous, but because he really is trustworthy.
You said it yourself...
We don't trust people because of fame (eg. Koukouz), but because they are trustworthy. What is the best way to know if a person is trustworthy?
Knowing this person.
This is exactly what I said in my previous message.
Do you have any imagination how would this community look like if you would decide everything by yourself? Do you really think people would follow your rules (aa10 + demorules + the usage of the kz_ tag) if people couldn't tell their opinions? And that's the difference between this community and other communities -> they don't make standards. There would be other "official" communities in that case and you wouldn't have any power in kz world.
And you basicly admited that all admins you got are the friends of some admin (-> knowing the person = basicly a friend). So instead of hiring admins that are your friends, you should learn to know the people that are trying to become an admin and do your descision.

So if I follow your way of thinking, I should go and talk to every members - no, wait, only the "active" members, around 150-200 people - to see if they're interested in becoming admins and if they have the skills we're looking for?
Why don't those members offer their help to the admin(s)? Who are those people who want to be admins (apart from the "fame-seekers")? I only know a very few (less than 5 people).
I almost never received an application via PM.
I don't bite, you can talk to me, I won't ignore you, I accept kz people on Facebook, my MSN adress is in my profile, my PM box is wide opened.
I don't think people are afraid of me...
We ask members' opinions about options we already mentioned in our internal forum.
Let's say 95% of the time a new feature/thing appears here in XJ - even if we made a poll - the choice was already mentioned and suggested way before the poll (which was most of the time made only in order to confirm our pre-choice).
Sometimes we think wrong and the members want the complete opposite of what we thought about, then we have to re-think over everything: balancing between admins obligations/good sense and members' wishings, we have to find the "happy medium".
