How To Make It In America (2010-2011)
IMDb score 7.9/10
IMDb link

A very down-to-earth series about making it big, this time via a clothing brand.

Now, while that sounds uninteresting and "just another in line", it isn't. I went in with zero expectations, and I think that made me see some of the things this show has, that many others these days seem to lack. It was very authentic and SIMPLE.
Simple in the sense that, it felt real. Like you could actually relate to the things they go through.
The cast was - while not the best actors in the world - well put together and the story was okay too, often saved by some good humor.

But it did lack certain key things that makes a succesful series these days. If you make a comedy/drama show I feel like there is really only two roads to go down.

Either you follow the Friends/HIMYM model and make every episode a standalone, so that you can sit down with anyone and watch any given episode, and it will still be "funny" - all that while following a storyline that doesn't really matter.

OR

You can follow a storyline like this show does, meaning every episode matters. The problem for this show is, then you need some cliffhangers to remind people that they need to watch the show.
This show ends like a HIMYM episode pretty much, no cliffhanger ever. And while I enjoy that relaxed atmosphere about the show, it sadly makes it forgettable. I feel that is the main reason this show failed.

That along with a season two, that showed, the producers didn't have a real plan with the show, it was rightfully cancelled.

Still, if you have 8 hours to use something on, you can kick back and watch both seasons of this show.
If anything it will take your mind off things without it feeling like a waste of time, cause there are lessons to be learned from this show.
Atleast there was for me.

Skyfall (8/10) - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1074638/

Definitely the best James Bond movie stars Daniel Craig. Plenty of humour, action and even more throwbacks to the old movies. Very good intro song by Adele as well. Worth watching if you like good action/crime movies.

Killer Joe 2011 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1726669/
IMDb plot : When a debt puts a young man's life in danger, he turns to putting a hit out on his evil mother in order to collect the insurance.

Killer joe is a very disturbing, dark, and twisted film. It's the second collaboration of the director Friedkin (77yrs old !) with the American playwright Tracy Letts, after the awesome and crazy "Bug http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0470705/".

This film has guts, really. Some scenes are really brutal and even stomach-churning. The whole cast was also fine. Especially McConaughey, such a sick badass in this movie. The little girl as well... don't know her name but she really nailed the kind of naive girl who changed slightly during the whole film to a mentally challenged young chick. they re all morally ZERO, made me think of some Coen's films (esp Fargo) but way darker and sicker.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0390384/
IMDb plot :Four friends/fledgling entrepreneurs, knowing that there's something bigger and more innovative than the different error-checking devices they've built, wrestle over their new invention.

this film made with ONLY $7000 describes science in a very believable way. Very complex storyline but well written which immediatly grabs your attention, good acting, stylish production/direction.
if you like science shit, go for it

skyfall 2012
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1074638/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
imdb plot: Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

definitely not the best 007 movies, but it sure was a good entertainement. the plot was a bit meh imo, but the production and photography were amazing!(no wonder why... the guy behind this is the same guy who did all the photography work on all the Coen brothers flicks.) I mean, it's a real movie that has to be watched in theaters... not like the 10 last bond movies which all looked like crappy tvfilms.
7.5/10

looper 2012
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1276104/
imdb plot : In 2074, when the mob wants to get rid of someone, the target is sent 30 years into the past, where a hired gun awaits. Someone like Joe, who one day learns the mob wants to 'close the loop' by transporting back Joe's future self.

the first hour of the flick was brilliant, if not perfect. the way the director set the atmospher, the futuristic world, the mafia etcc... really neat. the last 30mins a bit disappointing, tho i liked the "conclusion" of the movie, linked to the beginning. anyway solid flick.
7.5/10

lawless 2012
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1212450/
imdb plot : Set in Depression-era Franklin County, Virginia, a bootlegging gang is threatened by a new deputy and other authorities who want a cut of their profits.

there's already a fuckton of movies relating the prohibition era in the USA. but none actually shows the "country" side of these times. really entertaining movie, the actors played all their roles perfectly, even shia leboeuf lol. gunfights were stunning and the last scene on the bridge filmed with "backlighting" was really beautiful.

Name: The Cabin in the Woods;
imdb rate: 7.2;
imdb plot: Five friends go for a break at a remote cabin in the woods, where they get more than they bargained for. Together, they must discover the truth behind the cabin in the woods.

Before i start talking about movie, one think you should to know is this movie isn't classical Thriller. Movie is full of surprises and mysterical moments which brings you to watch movie more and more. You can found out by this that storyilne is hard to understand, have to pay more attention on stuff in movie !

End of movie is something special, not a classical. In start you think everything will end fine, but end of movie brings us something different !

Whoever like a mysterical movies, this is something you have to watch.

Great movie, very sad ending.

the ending makes it perfect imo, that's just what Frank Darabont(the director)wants to show ;) good guy got bad paid, kind of sarcasm .
And I'd say it's better than Frank's The Shawshank Redemption which is overrated.

Both are obviously good, but The Shawshank Redemption is just a more "real" movie, so-to-say. It's liked more because it doesn't contain the supernaturalism that the Green Mile does.

This movie, this movie. With both laughter and tears in my eyes I just wanted to go out in the snow and end my life. The depression you get by this movie is fucking awesome, never, EVER have a movie touched me this deeply. Must see.

This is the best movie I've ever seen. The movie really touches my heart, it shows the value of having really good friends and helping others. The movie is in black and white, but don't let that scare you away. The movie is really great, a must see.
