I think the reason lies not in reason, but in fear. Once you are muslim, the punishment for leaving islam is death. If it wasn't for this, probably this ideology wouldn't be existing already.

Does Islam allow freedom of religion or does it threaten the death penalty for apostasy?

Those who turn their back on Islam are to be executed. This is confirmed by the words and deeds of Muhammad. The only freedom of belief in Islam is the freedom to become Muslim.

Islamic Law (Sharia)

(o8.1) - When a person who has reached puberty and is sane voluntarily apostatizes from Islam, he deserves to be killed.

(o8.4) - There is no indemnity for killing an apostate (since it is killing someone who deserves to die).

Acts that define "leaving Islam" and being subject to execution are listed in o8.7. They include:
-2- to intend to commit unbelief, even if in the future

-3- to deny the existence of Allah... or any of his attributes

-6- to be sarcastic about Allah's name, his command, his interdiction... or his threat

-7- to deny any verse of the Quran

-8- to mockingly say, "I don't know what faith is"

-17- to believe that things in themselves or by their own nature have any causal influence independent of the will of Allah

its not for that; it exists to guide human being to live a happy life in this world and then eternel life in heavens (aljanna)

"Does Islam allow freedom of religion or does it threaten the death penalty for apostasy? "
i suppose you readed the verses i posted before mentioning that human being have the total choice to believe or not to believe. like this one i post again (very clear english) :

"There should be no COMPULSION in religion. Surely , right has become distinct from wrong; so whosoever refuses to be led by those who transgress, and belives in Allah has surely grasped a strong handle which knows no breaking. And Allah is All-hearing, All-Knowing" (Albakara 257)

i give you more :
*chapter 109:
1. ' In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the Merciful'
2. 'Say , O ye disbelievers!'
3. 'I worship not that wich you worship'
4. 'Nor worship you what i worship'
5. ''And i am not going to worship that wich you worship'
6. 'Nor you are worshiping what i worship'
7. 'For you your religion, and for me my religion'

"say to those who disbelieve, if they desist, that wich is past will be forgiven them...." (Al-Anfal 39)

Now look my brother im not here to convert you into a muslim . Nobody can do that only Allah converts people. Im here just to send the message and its only your choice.

"We have certainly sent down distinct verses. And Allah guides whom He wills to a straight path."(verse 46- chapter24)

So if you want god to convert you be positive and work it in your own brain: dont google "islam is horrible" neither "islam is peace" just read.
Now this is realy my last post in this thread i think thats enough good luck ;)

atheist.
and before anyone asks, yes i do celebrate christmas but not because of it's religious meaning but rather because it's the time of the year where you spend time with your family and hand out gifts.

i don't care about others beliefs, as long as they don't try and shove their beliefs down my throat in which case i'll simply just tell them that they are retarded. to each his own, it is just not logical for me to believe in any kind of god.

in a way though i'd say that it's not entirely impossible that somewhere out there that a smarter/god-like intelligent being/beings exist. but i do not believe that god created the earth or in some magical dude that watches us from above.

Gorbachev_x mapper07/03/2017 21:47

Well, I am an atheist but sometimes I wish there was a god (some higher intelligente), and an afterlife because I just can't deal with the fact that when a person dies... is gone forever. This can sound stupid to some people, but I wish I could meet dead people that inspired me, just to... thank them. It would be cool to talk with the only person I can identify myself with, that tragically died too young and it's hard to deal with the fact that I will never have a chance to talk with this person. And ofc to ask questions and finally get my answers, because I have many, many, MANY deep unanswered questions about so many things and I think about them so much that in 2012/13 I was 1 step from hitting total insanity and entering a mental hospital, I just... need answers.

Berkut Tournament #208/03/2017 02:48

Cure from aging that guarantees eternal life for a person would be the most significant achievement of humanity, but unluckily our generation would not witness it.. so you have to deal with those questions personally, yeah

psh08/03/2017 13:24

We already have overpopulation, eternal life would be the shittiest thing we could come up with. Personally, I doubt we will ever achieve it.

Agreed. And there are some things that can possibly lead to eternal life or living for hundreds of years.

Depends on how you look at it. I mean NASA already has plans of terraforming Mars, obviously it'll take hundreds of years before it is habitable but it will happen sooner than we'd have "eternal life" - if it even is possible, obviously. I think in some way or form that cellular regeneration/something else is entirely possible, that we will come up with solutions to live longer and if not forever then at least hundreds of years. So by the time we have ways to live longer we'd for sure already have terraformed Mars and maybe even figured out how to travel at light speed and thus able to explore the Universe and find habitable planets to live on.

Doesn't matter how long it'll take us to travel to other solar systems if we are capable of light speed (or just close to it), by the time we have figured out how to travel at such speeds I also think that we have developed some form of really intelligent AI that could possibly serve as the 'caretaker' of frozen human embryos that we send off to explore different habitable planets. No need for human interaction at all. But now I'm just rambling on, I'm sorry :-P

If the human race even exists for that long, ofcourse.

hefakz11/03/2017 03:03

Lol not even an Atheist i just think its bullshit to believe in any f***** book . Its hard to think there is nothing but i think this is so ;D We just live to die , no point, no reason, nothing but hard 255LJ block grind.

Death---> this life ----> death again ----> eternal life

LaucherJunge11/03/2017 10:21(edited 11/03/2017 10:24)

My model of reality looks like that: We got 12 dimension as einstein said, it might be more or even infinite but lets just take this as an example.
Everything started in the 12th dimension where everything is one counsciousness basically god but not in personal form of course, "it" split in half or even multiple parts into the 11th dimension and this was going on and on untill our dimension was reached. There are at least trillions of beings with this split up counsciousness which are humans, aliens and others in our dimension. Obviously each dimension exists at the same time, well the higher dimensions probably dont even have time as we know it.
Religion was invented to manipulate the masses like media does nowadays.

HaMMa mapperrecord holder Tournament #311/03/2017 20:31

do you believe in alliens? xD

LaucherJunge11/03/2017 23:34

While estimates among different experts vary, an acceptable range is between 100 billion and 200 billion galaxies in our universe and between 800 billion and 3.2 trillion planets in our galaxy so we basically got at least 100 billion times 1 trillion planets in just our universe and we live on just 1! of them if you dont believe in aliens you are mad.

I see where you are going, but there is other side of the coin that you dont take into account. If the chance of beginning of life is very very small, if thats a very unlikely event, such that the chance for example that life originates is - only one planet out of all existing planets in universe, then you must be mad to expect to find life anywhere else, because its tremenduously rare. Still if we dont find any other form of life, we cannot be certain there does not exist any. But if we do find at least one that originated separately from ours, we will be able to tell that there are a lot of lives in the universe, because if we managed to find "aliens" on such small part of the galaxy that we are able to reach (obviously we can grasp only the tiniest fraction of universe), then we can say that life would be very common in the whole universe.

Check the Drake equation.

sorry but did someone come from that point of eternal life to tell us that it exists? :P

You believe in magical being in the observable and already explored space, but you are drawing the line at something you have no idea about, that is completely unexplored and unknown ...
You should stop already...

And yes i know, god doesn't have a physical form, give it up already...

In 2016 the universe "got really big". Experts now estimate that there are around 2 trillion galaxies.
