Kreedz Climbing 2.0 Installation Guide
Hello everyone, here's a guide on how to install KZMod 2.0:
Step 1.
Download the KreedzClimbing2Install.zip, and extract it anywhere you want. It does not matter where you extract the files.
Step 2.
Inside the zip file you will find KreedzClimbing2Install.msi and setup.exe. Run setup.exe.
Why is there both a Setup.exe and an installer .msi?
The .msi file is the actual installer for the game, the setup.exe does checks for prerequisites and sets up the msi for your computer, it's responsible for the "InstallShield is preparing the..." message and is meant to be there.
Step 3.
You should see a path automatically entered into the install directory box. This path is loaded from the registry and is where Steam thinks the SourceMods folder for your steam installation is. This might not be on the same drive as your primary Steam installation, since Steam doesn't seem to like updating this registry entry when you create steam libraries. If installing to this location doesn't make the game show up in the steam list, you need to find the SourceMods folder Steam is trying to use in one of your libraries.
A SourceMods path might look like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\SourceMods
If you wish to install Kreedz Climbing to a different drive than your primary, install it where you wish, then follow the instructions in this thread.
Step 4.
Install the game. After installation is complete, you should have two new icons on the desktop, "Launch KZ Map Editor!" and "Update Kreedz Climbing" - If you don't have these icons, perhaps due to restrictive UAC settings and so on, don't worry, there are other ways to update.
Step 5.
Run the updater. You can do this either by using the Update Kreedz Climbing link, or navigate to the SourceMods folder where you installed kzmod (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\SourceMods\KreedzClimbing), and run KZUpdate.bat . You might want to run it again after it's been run once to make sure you are fully updated. Also read the note below.
Note: The first time you run the updater, it may appear to take a very long time "Cleaning Updater SVN Directories" - this is one time only and all future updates will be fast. It's best to not interrupt it.
Step 6.
Restart steam. You should now see Kreedz Climbing 2.0 in your games list. If you don't, but can confirm it's been installed in the SourceMods folder, then most likely you have the "wrong SourceMods folder location" issue that was described higher up on this page. You need to find the real SourceMods folder for your Steam install, which is probably on another drive.
Once you find the correct SourceMods folder, just cut and paste the entire KreedzClimbing folder to it. There is no need to reinstall using the installer.
Step 7.
Install Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer. This is a free game that KZMod runs on, you can find it in the Tools page of steam. You can also install this by trying to start KZMod 2.0, and it will automatically start downloading.
Step 8.
Assuming everything went well, you should be able to start the game now and play. Have fun!
You can view the list of command line options for the Source engine here.

BTW, is there any helping commands that I can put in the Launch Options? like for the -freq 144 ? or -nofbo?
I added a link to the command line options list at the bottom of the guide.

I have the two icons on desktop. I installed it in the proper folder. I updated via the icon on desktop. have installed the 2013 sdk multi. Still nothing in steam library. Do I need to download a certain game for the mod to work?
Do you have steam libraries on different drives Rooslin?
that sounds like the problem. If you have split installations then it actually doesnt know where to put the stuff because its not where it thinks it is.
You do NOT need any game to play Kreedz Climbing :D

I have it on two different drives and have copied the sourcemod folder with kzmod2 into both steamapps folders.
