I remember somewhere around the past imo sir akkord said that they're using mechanical keyboard. What is the difference of it from a normal kb?
im also interested in that @prad...i was thinking the only difference is the look...but probably something more is there
11/03/2018 12:57There have been too many different opinions on the keyboards matter. While some of the top jumpers namely g-Lp (the only name I can actually recall :D but there were more for sure) claim that mechanical keyboard does matter, the other jumpers like shooting-star just doing very fine with some random cheap keyboards. Koukouz for example couldn't strafe the shit out of his new keyboard when he switched to some really expensive mechanical keyboard. Draw your own conclusions.
i stand as shoothing star's opinion...about hardware i think only mouse makes the difference (and not that drastically, but obviously from 5e mouse to some g202 or whatever is actual now in kz :D )

About mechanical keyboard:
I got a mechanical keyboard and I can say it is awesome. My jumps got fucked up for some time but I got used to the keyboard and now I am better than never. With this keyboard I got better strafes, more consistency in all jumps and even improved my strafe count (I used to do only 5), now with this keyboard I can jump with 8 strafes sometimes and my bhops got WAY more powerful. With my old keyboard I couldn't get past like the 6th white bhop block on deathless_x, now I can finish that map pretty much whenever I want. I recommend getting one. I'm using MX Red Switches btw.
My personal settings ofc dont interesting. This only pro thread) but i have 30 pm on xj,and 20 on cosy with that question to pro players)

If this is true then Cupe plays with sensitivity that is 12 times bigger than mine, I hardly believe anyone other than 7D is capable of handling it :D
If only windows sensitivity doesn't affect your ingame sens.
From personal experience, i always used razer cyclosa but recently i got a hyperx mars mechanical keyboard and boy its bad for strafing. Im currently jumping about 250-255 consistenly with cyclosa but when i switch to mechanical i cant even do 250. One thing i noticed though its that my bhop timing with mechanical is way better than with cyclosa.
I'm having the opposite effect that Gorbachev's having.
I went from a Lycosa to trying out numerous mechanical keyboards a few years ago, and my LJ/strafing has never been the same, I ended up getting a mechanical keyboard with low travel distance and low keys (Tesoro Gram Spectrum) to compensate and it somewhat helped, but it's not anywhere near as good as the Lycosa was for me.
