Jump time

Hmm, I've always thought it was the same as lj. Well, you can try it! Try to jump on a 63 unit high block with cj.
it is the same as lj, you just tap the duck before jumping
Let's just come to the conclusion that eDark rocks :P wow you really know hl engine *drool*. Cj time is the same, you just get better maxspeed and prestrafe so you get longer... I think.
whats the time in air after doubleduck/CJ ? ^^
t=2*sqrt(2*H/800), H - height of duckjump.. What is the height ? It is NOT 32.
What is SQRT i didn't understand it :D

Square root :/
Like sqr(9) = 3 because 3*3 = 9
SQRT
2² = 2x2 = 4 ; 3² = 3x3 = 9 ; 4² = 4x4 = 16 ; etc..
hight of a dubbleduck (the kind you use to get over boxes etc.) is 32units (right?). well, than in my wierd brain the countjump-duck/tap duck should be 16 units.
now I dont remember how I got to that number tho :P

No it is not. There is a mistake in DD guide..
Originally posted by eDarkthere is a way to jump 45+ units high with gravity 800 but that s another story ;P
finish the story! =DD
@thx for telling me it was ez dunno how i didn't figured that out :D
You can jump 63 units high with CJ.
Like this :
Press duck with mwheel then when landing press duck with CTRL/SHIFT (like standups).
BUT this is w/o velocity. :(
How many seconds is the console "wait" ?
1 frame, i think = 0,01 sec.. Depends on fps_max.. Is not it ?
ofc it depends on fps_max :D
what is the collision box ?
does it mean that when we land on the ground,wo stiil have speed and it will take us 32units farther?

Hmm, I don't know either. Maybe it's something like... Let's compare it to IRL longjump. If you step over the white ledge, the jump is disqualified. In kz, you can step a little under 32 units over the edge of the block because the player is 32 units wide or so. So, actually, when eg. Bibo jumped 255, he actually jumped just 223 units, but he could do the block, because the player is 32 units wide.
EDIT: http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/255.jpg
Nice pic, eh? :) That should make it a bit clearer.
Wouldn't even be another 32 units shorter? Since you land the same way?

no i dont think so, you gotta count either just the back of the model or just the front, right? Oo

Maybe yes because in RL LJ the counted distance is from players fingers on feet to the back of his feet (mostly back or ass not feet :P) and in CS it's totally different. In this case it's only 191 not 255 if you watch on it this way.
can smb(or eDark yourself) explain all values in that formula
p.s. sorry for bumping so old thread:D
