Longjump: Questions and answers
It's really hard to help people learn longjump. When I began I asked alots of people but nothing helped me :'/ I guess it's all about seriosely gaming and try do every kind of strafes untill you find your own "personality" , and freeshik do as wils said to you, try do left and right pre. The one who feels most soft for you, take that pre! Gl
+1. longjumping is all about practice and it takes alot of time. experimenting with strafes and prestrafes is the key for succesfull jumps. only thing i can say, that fast perfect strafes gives you great distance. you just have to find that perfection and feel it. gl
Hi All, I started longjumping a week ago so im pretty noob with all this...
At the moment im only strafing once cause i dont have enough practice so...
I have a big doubt about stats...
I made a jump of 238 units with these stats
Distance: 238.013748 MaxSpeed: 286.347808 (11.523) PreStrafe: 274.823913 Strafes: 1 Sync: 65
1 11.523 0.000 100.
And also made a jump of 229 units:
Distance: 229.985321 MaxSpeed: 300.163635 (25.638) PreStrafe: 274.525329 Strafes: 1 Sync: 95
1 25.638 0.000 100.
Why if the stats of the second jump are better than the first one... i got less distance???
I also made this jump with lame stats that got more distance than the other
Distance: 236.107681 MaxSpeed: 285.502899 (15.538) PreStrafe: 269.964752 Strafes: 1 Sync: 47
1 15.538 0.000 100. 4
I rly dont understand...
Also... i dont get how to improve sync... can somebody give me some tips??

with sync, u have to make really SINKED (synced) strafes... it means ure keys has 2 be on time with mouse movement, i practiced sync by doing 2 strafes = high sync (80+) and 240 + stats..
then used 4 strafes = 240 - 247 constant.

i think i get what u mean... so thats one doubt less but still i dont understand why with far more better stats i did only 229 units...
thats cuz zou jumped a curve... i mean, you do just 1 Strafe?! Do 2 at least and post again, no one can work with 1 strafe... thats just jumping around corners, lol

you have the same problem as I ,
since i started cj'ing my first strafe was starting to suck more and more

i got 12 speed gain in 17 % of the strafing time , witch ... was good
while getting better @ cj , my first strafe , involuntary got bigger , and i still got the same speed gain,
now i do 5, or 6 strafes , and my first strafe is always ~25 % and i get about 10 - 15 speed gain

u spend way to much time on ur first strafe , and u dont gain too much speed , 30 % is like enough for some people to do 3 strafes , u do just one ,
if someone knows any solution to this ... i iz gratefull , i know this has very few to do with the settings , and other stuff , like hardware , mouseglides n stuff,
i do know that only the keyboard affects the percentage of time in air for every strafe , and the mouse the speed gain , ... thx

its the airtime you spend into a strafe. For example if you do 5 Strafes, the perfect stats would be 20% each strafe. correct me if i'm wrong.
the 2nd percent means how well your strafes were synced.
mm I see.. What about the numbers after the strafe-gain speed? In this picture it's 0, 1, 0, 0, 0 and so on.

no they wont , for perfect stats u shoud get the max gain for each strafe keeping the time/strafe percentage as low as u can , not equal strafetime
so u coud get
15 .... 17
12 .... 16
10 .... 17
10 .... 18
8 .... 32 o the last strafe u simply glide trough the air ,not strafing at all

I have a question about my unreleased lj_rec 254 units (254.9 should be in table i think) i upload it more than 1 month ago and 2 times/ but it is stil not on lj rec's table
may be something is wrong with demo and where can I read info about it ?
