whats sensivity better for longjumping?

faxity19/05/2009 00:24(edited 19/05/2009 00:25)

low sens, makes you more accurate.. i dont see why high sens would be good, makes it so much harder to control the sensitivity

Promrak20/05/2009 20:05

mine sensivity is 2.0 in CS, and 4 bars in system, thats good?

Catbock_pd21/05/2009 23:48

it depends on your mouse and whats your dpi is

texpl44y09/06/2009 00:24

once a guy said to me to train 2 strafes, then 3 and so on ..

2 strafe = 243u
3 strafe = 245u
4 strafe = 248u
5 strafe = 250u

allright this?
and a time to the second sync my ca Straf fell to 60% -. how could I improve it?

TTRRRIIIPLE POSSSSTTTT

ot : do you jump on block? or on ground?
you either duck too fast, or too slow
make a demo... AND PLEASE EDIT YOUR POST INSTEAD OF POSTING 3 TIMES IN A ROW...

SeedD11/06/2009 21:22

ohai, XJ! I have some problems with maxspeed (lj). It usually is 310-320. Well, i tried some shits (lower sens, mouse fix) and then it became 310-320. Do you know other methods for improving maxspeed? Aaand my other problem: 0 gain on last (6th) strafe. I tried 5 strafes, but uber-bad-stats. Hope u'll help me fo jumping 250 stats again. xD Mby i'll post 2 demos soon.

teco28/06/2009 02:53

Yeah, I am flabbergasted about the fact that it hasn't been updated for months.

I think its straight out weird, and almost disrespective towards the people who submit their demos, which they've most likely spent alot of time and effort to succeed in.

The highjump/countjump-section was updated roughly a month ago and the bunnyhop/longjump-lists were left untouched - why? The reason cannot be that too few demos were sent, as I have personally heard people telling that they've submitted 254 longjumps and even 255 ones, also other communities have various 254/255 ljs and other demos (cj, hj, bhop) which haven't been listed in the LJ Records-page.

Why?

There are some obvious and less obvious reasons standing out varying from ground to ground, some circle around the truth telling small bits of it in an unnoticable way such as saying "we haven't got enough time on our hands to update the list so frequently", which in other words means this: "we are quite busy with other stuff relating this community, but we do have our spare time, we just don't spend it on issues that we don't consider important at the very moment".

I shall share my thoughts of the most propable reasons why it isn't updated, and opinions/criticism - I hope you can take it constructively and not in a disrespective manner.

1. All submitted demos have to be checked carefully for illegal settings (including slowmotion hack) before making them official. This can be a timeconsuming process if you have alot of demos in your hands - also if a cheater is spotted, you have to decide "a punishment fit for the crime" and as there has been controversial discussion of what ban is unjust or justified, this might end up as a puzzle for you.

2. The admins have their own lives to live; school, work, and social life etc. - these things will inevitably lead to a shortage of time to "work" in Xtreme-Jumps. The admins must, after all, keep the site in an order and check 15+ demos every week for demo releases - the various tasks incorporating XJ might not leave enough time to pay attention to the other assets in the community.

3. Now if an admin reads this reason, I am not trying to be disrespective or anything negative here, so please take it in consideration; the people who check the demos and "make them official" don't either think the LJ Records is a section worth updating in a frequent manner, or they see it as a completely obsolete part which they will only update when they have nothing else to do.

4. I don't know anything about websites, or even computers, but I have a suspicion that the amount of demos - the size of them to be more precise - could have something to do with the "issue" concerning LJ Records. If the demo.ftp (?) is too filled up and there isn't room for many more demos might leave you uninspired - I have no idea if this reason can even be true, but anyways...

The admins may be uninspired to update it, as some robustly accredit that the LJ Records-segment as an overly observative installment in this community, whereas the remaining few admins have their own reasons.

P.S. Ontopic:

I seem to have problems relating my first strafe - it seems to be hanging around 60, even lower, whereas before it was nearly always 100% synchronized.

I have a reason to believe that it is either my over-active way of longjumping (which is quite sad) or my relatively new computer-gear (new screen, 21½" widescreen HD LCD whereas my old was a 17" sh*t shizzle-screen from the late 1990s - a new computer, and a new keyboard; an upgrade from a random old microsoft-keyboard to a G11) - relatively new meaning ~a month old. I, however, had thought that the new gear would improve my jumps.

I use a left prestrafe and 7 strafes - my approximated sync is ~70-80 and before it was around 90, I think that I'm having "a bad season" for jumping, most of you know what I mean, as you've had those seasons yourself as well.

WOW LOL

ZiK BlooDRaveN29/06/2009 07:08

kafds absolutly agree with you, admins, you are waiting for the moment when it will be approximatly 100 Lj demos, and you will check it !?
