The shit you're talking about is called alcohol abuse. Believe it or not, someone can like alcohol as a drink (good wine/beer is always welcome, but maybe it's just me. My origins come for a place that was named after a wine, where everyone has wineyard and produce their own wine. For a loooooong time. It's just sort of a tradition and it runs in the family. I don't feel like elaborating this one, but I hope it won't be missunderstood). But most of the people drink over limit just for fun or some other stupid reasons.

But when you already mentioned it - state border between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina is only few kilometres away so some people from our place got a nice idea of smuggling all kind of shit over the border. And they were successfull, big time. Still they are.
