The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) KZ player
Who do you think is the GOAT regarding KZ?
I have 4 nominations:
- zhady (2006 - 2012); total demos: 405 (+11 deleted); different maps: 199; current WRs: 0
Has a huge legacy in KZ world. The absolute leader regarding total demos with 405 (+11) - second place (ShNz) on this list has ''only'' had 317 (+15). He has also held WRs at 199 different maps, which puts him in second place, only behind shooting-star (201). But keep in mind how many maps there were back in zhady's time, and how many there are now. Even though he has no records currently, he surely has achieved enough in this game to be in the GOAT contention.
- LEWLY (2007 - 2013); total demos: 171 (+14 deleted); different maps: 132; current WRs: 24
Don't let these ''low'' numbers compared to the others on this list fool you. LEWLY is one of the most respected names in KZ history, an all-around, extremely consistent player with very few weaknesses. Many think that if he had stayed active, nobody could've touched him on the top of the current world records list. He hasn't been recording for almost 6 years now, but even today when one of his records is beaten by pure skill (and not by some newly discovered shortcut), everyone is stunned.
- ShNz (2009 - present); total demos: 317 (+15 deleted); different maps: 132; current WRs: 71
Widely considered as the best bhopper of all time, ShNz has had an impressive career so far, lasting for more than 10 years. Second on the list of total demos only to zhady, with 317 (+15). Currently fourth on the total number of WRs list with 71.
- shooting-star (2013 - present); total demos: 264 (+15 deleted); different maps: 202; current WRs: 105
Has held WRs on 202 different maps (leader in that aspect), probably the most complete player ever, excelling in almost all techniques (has recently utilized a crazy jumpbug to beat spr1n's record on kz_giantbean_b15[1337trees] which had stayed unbeaten for more than 9 years - a feat that was considered impossible) and difficulty levels (the only person ever to complete fu_extreme, the most difficult official map - another feat that was considered impossible). Extremely consistent, having won many cups (don't know the exact number, but would be surprised if he wasn't the leader in that aspect as well). The second place in current WRs (105), would be the undisputed GOAT if he weren't overtaken by fykseN (126). Still the GOAT in my opinion
- fykseN (2015 - present); total demos: 159 (+14 deleted); different maps: 138; current WRs: 126
Although he doesn't have the legacy of the other players on this list yet, he currently holds the most WRs (126), and by quite a long shot (second place shooting-star has 105), and that parameter, although not the only one, is perhaps the most important one in the GOAT debate. In my opinion, he needs to achieve more to be considered the GOAT, which is very possible considering his current performance, if he stays active in the following years. Another interesting thing to note is the ratio of current WRs and number of different maps: 91%. There are only 12 maps where this guy has lost a WR to another player without claiming it back (yet). Wow!

is like comparing messi with maradona or pele... talking about different times is quite hard to be objetive.
i would include in that list: Brian, Supa, ndR, Koukouz and Kelta.
from that top10, is even harder to define a top3... i think its a bit matter of personal likes.

Toffifee is a great player, but whatever quality he has, shooting-star has the same, so it comes down to comparing numbers and achievements, in which ss dominates

If you use this as an argument then LEWLY shouldnt be on this list, even below toff
Anyway my personal take on this is patchouli. Despite her not having that many wrs, the things ive seen from her compared to other jumpers are just on another level. She can do wrs effortlessly on the stupidest leble maps, through the classic climb and bhop maps and finally the hardest cp/tp maps. Theres just something about her that tells you this when you spectate, and ive spectated a lot of these players in this list.
Pretty sure toff even accused her of cheating once. :D

idk. but the top player (by the most common definition) is fykseN, it's literally written top right. everybody might have a different definiton of who a goat should be, but none of the names above are currently better or more dedicated to this game (that involves recording and rerecording) than fyksen.
For me its like kyser said, a matter of taste.
I vote only for koukouz, but there are great players like people already mentioned
either koukouz or zhady

I would say Patchouli. There was a time when she pretty much dominated everything with ease. But I think it's going to be shooting star. Dude had amazing achievements, beat fu_extreme and the giantbean maps

@p0ker afaik LEWLY used to beat records effortless also. He had many WRs on pubs also that he managed to do them with ease. Not to mention he is one of the very best of csgo KZ scene!
I know and toff did the very same thing, on par with him, probably less time spent and more records overall. This is why he shouldn't be excluded on the list. I'm not saying LEWLY shouldn't be there, just tried to point out a flawed point of view in my opinion. :)

What, totally different playstyles...
Well, in my opinion, LEWLY had the most ease to record, he made it seem that he could record all the maps he wanted at any moment. On the other hand, Toffifee's consistency is as well something out of this world, the combination of skill and variety makes him a truly beast of KZ, any map that you could imagine, he can record it. Then you have patchouli, skill wise, in my opinion, is the best player we've ever seen, the combos and stuff she can do are unbelievable... Also, shooting-star is a pure example of dedication and passion for the game, his dedication is unique, and that gave him the chance to make some really unique World Records, such as the ones we seen the last release, and thanks to him we have a hella lot of runs with new shortcuts. fykseN is a great hybrid, but I believe he's not still on the competition for the "GOAT", however, that doesn't mean he's not on the path to become a strong contender, I believe he's making incredible stuff to deserve that title, but I know he will be delivering for a lot more time. And finally but not least, we have shNz, probably the best bhopper of all time, with his style being his great beauty. He's been on the scene for so long and his movements are always fresh, it looks like he's able to do any combo that you can find, and when he appears, he always delivers the big way.
I also wanna mention players like Bibika, buh and Chasquido.
I only mentioned the players I've seen, and talking from my experience. I don't think there's a really determined "GOAT", but there are many that we can put together at the top, just talking from my point of view.
