How naive can one be to believe that a mod with around hundreds of thousands followers would die within moments after some "oldschool/famous" players decide to quit the game?
Sure XJ has started to lack it's activity, but keep in mind that there are other communities around and tons of servers advertising the word KZ/bhop.
New players are joining, but it seems like some of you don't even recognize it. They are kept under your shadows while you don't even blink twice for players who are not "known" for something.
Out of curiosity I am wondering how many of you have been forthcoming and welcoming new players to the community? Have you helped them to understand the basics, without criticising their little knowledge about the community/mod?
Most of the threads where a typical new player asks for guidance in the forums is either unanswered/ or mocked and made out to look like fools.

This separations of famous/new players needs to stop, because it's killing the community. Stop favorizing others and judge people by their fame/skills.
This is the reason XJ is drying up. New players are frozen out among the others, and have little to nothing to say about anything what goes on.

I couldn't have said it better! Perfectly written.

The fact that you put oldschool jumpers in a different category than the newcomers is kind of odd. You are not giving the new players a chance to 'shine' and prove themselves.

What is more, really excuse me for being rude but honestly... Our lovely community has, unfortunately, a considerable amount of members who show disrespect towards others. Exactly these people, who provide criticism on newbies in a rather immature and impolite way destroy their will.

The trick is to be helpful and pass the stuff you know to others. Help people, get them familiar with the basics, provide proper critics, encourage them.

Well... Mathzz said most of it, I just dropped my 5 cents.

In china kz is dead but cheats are alive

kz is less popular in China yes, but we still got like thouands of kz players so it's not dead. and newbies keep coming

@krater If I had to guess why you got a warning I would most likely put it down to the fact you managed to break the first three community guidelines in one sentence.

I think the main reason that kz is dying is that the wr are way harder to beat now, after 10 years of geeking this maps is hard for newcomers to beat the times...

So way not make another "division" of demos?
Something like finishing the map with scout or m4a1 (tough some maps are probably impossible to pass with m4a1)

Or make to division: "division A" is the current demos, "division B" best times that didn't beat the WRs...

To be honest, I believe that would cause a serious mess here, FuZzy1. I think that having map releases more often is a rather easier and effective solution.
