[TECHNIQUE] Slide-Bug (sb)
Intro:
This is no damage fall technique. We all know what Edge-Bug is. This technique is similar to it, but can be done on ground w/o edges if there is a slide wall nearby (wall can be not surfable up, but must be slidable).
Prove:
Here you go a DEMO example of it.
Explanation how to do:
You must touch the ground and strafe in the slide wall at one moment, so in one frame you'll do this:
Frame starts.
First you'll touch the ground so vertical speeds resets to 0.
Then you'll slide the ground to the slide wall.
Then you'll slide a wall some units up high, so you wont be on ground.
Frame ends.
So at frame start you are'r not on the ground. At frame end also. So engine does not detect you touching the ground.
Use:
You already saw a demo exaple of this bug higher - it's was recorded as an sc also. Bud I'm updating this thread after some time, so some of you already know the bug and don't look at the demo cuz are a bit too lazy, so here is an image of the sc example.
Read before posting:
If this is old for you or you think that someone somewhere done it some time ago - don't write it in this thread, cuz purpose of my post is to get this technique in official xj technique list what means that is it new or old for you doesn't really mater's and we don't really need this offtopic discussion here.
Nice :D
don't think it works on all walls, and i don't really think this is that new, i'm sure a lot of peope know you can big the walls sometimes
It works @ all slide walls - I made 2 exampe demos higher.
Yes, people are finding ways to bug walls, but thets called wallbug & dosn't work all the times & if works, then only in little positions, where mappers made mistakes.
Hmm.. It was showed in old weekly..
Hmm nice bug, but I don't see the need for it. Never thought that jumpbugs, wallbugs and edgebugs were any cool, they're just bugs after all. Bugs which you only make at random times.
ur video version:

i did side-bug jump, but i thought this is edge-bug jump before!
lookin' good NumB!
some stuff you can correct, in case it turns sticky
tehnique * technique (2x)
gows * goes (2x) (I'm guessing)
in to the surf-wall beeing ducked * in the direction of the surf-wall while ducked
principe * principle (2x)
axactly * exactly
thet * that
more easyer * easier
nice. gonna try. thanks for sendspace one :)
omg Nekso are you a teacher :D
i probably know the place what you mean at cs_siege even not watching the demo its at the t spawn jumping from the tower to the box down right ? and then to slide off the box wall without taking dmg ?
@ caffeine
Thx, gj with the movie. =) In first 17 seconds it wasn't a sb, but that dosn't matter (that was J0ny with godmode folling oround :D ).
@ akkord
T spawn??? Nope, it's @ CT spawn (from bridge).

You & J0ny. =)
just a glitch if brush is rotated (usually)
not really practical or new =(
looks like u just surf on the wall ... gj btw :)

Somewhy I made it today @ evry slide I found what had nice falls. Common, there are wr maps where people have to edgebug/jumpbug to make an sc but can slidebug - this technique is much more easier then other known no dmg falls (not including fall to water/stuck area).
P.S. lj/cj/doubleduck/eb/jb/wb/fast-ladder/straifing/... all this techniques are bugs to, so don't start here that it's a bug, & cuz of that noone will aprove it existions & won't be using it. Evrything new is not practical, but why you are saing, thet it's old? When cj was found - evrybody knowed things like doubleduck & lj. Now it's the same (jb principle + eb currection or lower + autosliding).
y didnt u name it after your name.. your weird
NumB-Bug
NumBug
NumB'ug
sounds cool ^^
I'm gonna try to make some NB or SB, on some maps, and see what turns out.
(What should we call it NumB?)
