It's not like I can't accept it, but it's going out of control now. Almost everybody is hating longjumping, and that is bad for the community.

This discussion will lead us nowhere. The "oldschool" will always love the oldtimes, when longjumping wasn that big. It's always been like that and it will always be like that. Some can't/won't live with changes, some can/will.
The "newschool" grew up with it and has no problems with it, it's fine for them.
I have nothing against longjumpers or what they'r doing. There's no bad thing about longjumping. It is the attitude of some people, that is bad for XJ/KZ.
I don't like to be called a "noob"(choose a rather less insulting word), if I can't make a jump on the first couple of tries (yea, still happens after 4 years), by 14 year old kids, who's playing kreedz for like 5 months.
It's all about the attitude.
Just my two cents :)

I have one question!
Is it possible to make stats that will only show if you do a LJ on block? Sounds stupid, but ljstats I once saw can differ a HJ and normal LJ block. And usually Lj block are at the end of the map. This would cut some ground stats hunters, maybe even turn more people to climbing.

Really good post :) I don't feel like continuing arguing here since I'm pretty sure I've brought up all my points. Also, I don't think I get really good publicity with the posts I've made :) They're also pretty childish here and there, but maybe that's just because I'm 14.
Arguing or not, you can't stop the longjumpers and that's a fact. KZ needs LJ even if the majority of players/users here doesn't like it.
PS: Also I don't understand why thread's name is ".. or bad for XJ"? Shouldn't it be "bad for KZ" :?

i`m not a newschool longjumper, and i`m not a child... i`m 24 years old and i say what i think. u just proved me that u have no clue whatsoever about kz...
who are YOU to judge people, or to speak for other jumpers? everyone out there, and i mean EVERYONE has the right to do whatever he/she wants... within the moral limits. but this is not the case... we`re talking about a game, a game with which we`re supposed to have fun...
just try and be more open-minded and more calm just because ur an oldchool jumper and u have seen pros/noobs come and go...

I have no problems with Ljers, personally. I dislike it, but hey, it's their free time and they can do whatever floats their boat. What I dislike however, is them clogging up space in servers. Like for example, few days ago I saw my favorite map on one server but it was full. I had to wait 10 minutes to finally get there and inside I saw about 5 guys just geeking LJs on the ground, not playing the map. I was really pissed. It was BHOP server, it was purely bhop map, heck, it was pretty easy. They didn't even try, they just sat there doing their crap not allowing others to join and enjoy a good map. It really pissed me off, and its not some isolated case. I've seen that happen so many of times that it's not even funny.
So to answer OP question, yes, LJ is bad for the community overall.
maaan my eyes hurt after reading all these posts.
and its kinda annoying reading the same thing over and over again by different people, this is just going around and around and people start flaming each other cause they got different meanings about the topic.
let lj-ers be lj-ers and when they get bored with lj-ing show them the way to the kreedz world.

23/08/2008 16:14Just remove LJ-stats on the XJ kz server for example, or make it so that you can only see the stats yourself.
We already have a few servers set up for you to LJ.
Also when people randomly do ljs on a flat ground ...it does't affect me in any way ,especialy if they do it @ start or end.
But they also use cp's and if they find some tini block somewhere in the middle of the map ,even with /invis on and if you pass them with bhop it sometimes stop you on the spot or even slower youre jump / making you fall or just loose 1-2 seconds .thx
